YOU get rings to cus ur a homer?? sweet :) Last time i checked Brady has 3 and no i do not care for him....??? for you..You say Ben is better than manning....For this season if ben was on Colts and manning was a Steeler would Colts be in Superbowl??? I will answer for you sir..NOOOOO chance....

if peyton was the qb for the steelers this year they would have been lucky to make the playoffs. no way manning would have survived with that patchwork offensive line, plus the outdoor elements.

Ben is never going to put up big numbers or win NFL MVP or be in the top five QBs in fantasy leagues which leaves people saying that he is not a top QB in the NFL. Ben has outplayed his stats his entire career. And if I'm not mistaken he led perhaps the greatest two-minute drive in SB history two years ago when the defense gave up the lead late in the game. He does it with far less talented receivers than any of the QB's that were named above have as well. Yea Wallace can fly but he only averages 2 or 3 catches a game. Ward is known as the best blocking receiver of all time and he has 2 rookies from 2 very small schools not to mention a patchwork offensive line that lost their best player. He did what neither Brady or Manning could do this post season because he possesses skills that neither of them have that defenses can't prepare for.

And to answer your question, No , Brady or Manning would not have made it to the SB this year if they were on the Steelers. The pocket collapses on Ben 70% of the time he drops back to throw and he makes plays with his legs, strength, and athletic ability that neither Brady or Manning have.

Brady and Manning would beat Big Ben in any QB competition or statistical category. But you can't tell me that a 10-2 record doesn't signify how great of a football player Ben is. He has proven he is a top QB and there isn't any other QB I would take when the games on the line late in the game.

Cant talk any sense into a HOMO, i mean Homer....Im in Green bay and love the pack but whats different from me and you is i will say things against my team if i feel its true...HOMERS wont ever say anything bad about there team and its actual rather sickening to listen to.

I think Ben is great Q.B. BUT, if Ben had been Q.B. of Indy, no way they would have made the playoffs this year either IMO.:0074

Not a Steelers fan at all but I've watched him play many of times. Quick releases are good for when receivers get open quick like a welker or collie, but once again there's a huge difference in personnel.

Yes, Manning and Brady do have great offensive lines most of the time. I'm not saying Ben is a better QB but the way he extends plays and makes things happen is something that most of the great QBs in the league don't have.

By the way the homo in place of homers joke was perhaps the funniest joke i have ever heard:mj07: :topic: :mj10: :00x16 :0054 :facepalm:

no pocket passer would survive with the steelers o-line the last 2 years. you can hype manning and brady all you want. they will have a hard time winning with the steelers when they were laying down on their ass.

vick, rodgers, or brees would be fine with the steelers o-line because they can all scramble around and make things happen on the run. the 2 poster boys cannot.

and for the record when has brady or manning had a bad o-line?

it has got nothing to do ben being a god, it has everything to do with a mobil qb:moon:

I never said Ben was better than anyone. Your turning this thread into a Brady and Manning vs Ben contest. This is simply about Ben getting no respect just like the title says. You called him an average QB which I think is ridiculous. I'm just trying to proove the point that you have no clue what your talking about. Brady and Manning are good at what they do but so is Ben with his style. He belongs in the same conversation...

I like Big Ben.. Think he is Ball to the walls but he has played with some great defenses. I will say that he is under rated. I wouldn't take anybody a head of P Manning though.. The guy has no running game and no defense.. He turns no name wides into good players..

I am a huge Packer fan, but I would not, at this point, say that I would take Rodgers over Big Ben in this matchup. Take a look at what Rodgers' record is in close games. It is surprisingly bad, I think something like 4-15 in games decided by 4 or less. Ben seems to be able to get it done late in the game, whereas Rodgers has yet to prove that.

That said, I still think the Packers will win is a close, defensive game. Take the under if you are looking to bet on the game.

As a former Packer fan and a former Favre fan,...

Hmm, I don't know why you come into my threads and call me a "typical" Viking fan. At least I know what kind of fan I am.

Do you always wait until the SuperBowl to become a huge fan?.. What changed from November until now? :shrug: . Just bustin your balls a little.

I can appreciate that. I was doing the same to you. I noted that I am a Packer fan just to emphasize my feeling that Ben R. may be better in some (important) aspects than Rodgers. That's all. Not meaning to impress anyone. Have fun rooting against the Pack.

This is why I come back to Madjacks during football season, to read the crap like this thread. I've accepted the fact that 99% of non-Steeler fans (especially here) will give all the Steeler success to the defense and running game. That's fine, but to hear anyone call Ben "average" is just stupid talk spewed by either haters or dumb football fans.

3rd and 19 vs Ravens...
3rd and 6 vs Jets...
All huge completions that won playoff games.

Yes he has a great team around him, but the guy makes plays, period. He's a winner that thrives under pressure. Can we say that about Manning, (check his playoffs record) NO. Can we say that about Brady, (Jets slapped him around for 60 mins, hasn't won a playoff game in years. NO. How about Brees, no.

As for the "great" offensive line? Can someone tell me who was sacked the most last year?

I don't think there is a better passer outside the pocket right now. Easily the toughest QB in the league. 28 and headed to his 3rd SB in past 6 years, ya he's average... Carry on. :0corn :0corn

Does Big Ben have a sick Defense.....yes!!!

Soes Big Ben have a great coaching staf.....YES!!

Does Brady, Manning, Brees have sick offensive stats and great...."fantasy" stats....yes!!!

Is Ben the QB I want on my football team over ANYONE else.....YES!!!

That is no...zero....disrespect to any other QB's in the NFL.

Big Ben is B-I-G....in the pocket, plays BIG in the big games, is clutch and does all the little things that are not on the stat sheet.....That is what I am saying! He puts the ball on target deep, over the middle, short, runs with his legs, avoids sacks and gets first downs!!

Like I said...no disrespect to all other QB's... Manning....dude is a GENERAL on the field......but give me #7 on Pitt AS MY STARTING QB IN THE SUPER BOWL OVER ANYONE ELSE in the league right now!!!

ANYBODY!!!! :0074

OK, I have to chime in as another Pitt homer. Ben is top 5. Its tough to judge the best because of systems, but here's my top 5 in order and who they remind me of.

Manning = Marino

Incredible passers and I say the best in each era.

Brees = Montana

Same accuracy but Brees needs to win a few more obviously.

Brady = Aikman

The NE system has been a big friend to Brady. Aikman had similar talent but a different run first system with Emmitt.

Big Ben = Jim Kelly

Tough QBs with big arms. More success in SB's for Ben.

Rodgers = Young

Mobile, accurate, protoype dual threat QB.
