Louie -10 over Wichita ***
So much talk and info on these games today...in the Cliff and Sparks notes break down... think Louie will eventually wear down the Shockers....Shocks play defense and rebound...hard to go against a team that does that so well....but Smith and Siva will be to much to handle...Armstead is tough and he took it to Craft but the energy he must use to break down the Cards will in the end tire him...Cleanthony who played in my HS league has really excelled...his grades out of HS were bad so he went to SCCC and became the Juco-POY...I remember when he signed with Wichita I thought it was strange...thought he would go to an A-10 school....and also thought hewould get beat up in the Mizzou Valley..but that sure wasn't the case.. he can flat out play.Louie plays about a 60-40% man to zone..think the transition game,defense,the gds and constant pressure give Louie the trip to the final dance....Louie wins by 12-15 pts...

So much talk on the 2-3 zone...I used it all through my career coaching...also a 1-3-1...Boe is a master of teaching and executing it....but he hasn't been in the final 4 in 10 yrs..so teams can beat it...see Marquette and Louie this yr...Beilin is 0- for life against it...but you can beat it...if your outside shooters can hit the shots...Mich will high post the middle.Boe will try to take it away...Trey will try to attack the seams,etc,etc,etc..you have heard all the breakdowns by Vitale and co...but it comes down to this...if Mich gets good looks and I mean not contested ones and Staukus,Burke and Robinson make their shots the Wolverines are going to the final dance..but I think the Cuse won't give them as many good looks....the way this team is composed of with 6'8 wings and a 6'6 pt gd presents a problem....also the Cuse offense with MCW at the point with Triche will be a defensive problem for Mich....Southerland,Fair,etc need to shoot..transition game for both teams....close game....think Cuse pulls it out...playing in the Georgia Dome with 74,000....always think that good deep outside shooting teams have problems with the back rounds...Mich has more of them....Cuse wins 69-65
