Big East tournament 2003

A buddy and I would like to go to the Big east tourney this March in NYC. I have a couple of questions if anyone out there could help out.

1) Tickets - We are thinking about going for Wed - Thur - Fri. Can you get a package on the tickets or only single game tickets? When do they go on sale?

2) Hotel - Any suggestions on where to stay. Close to garden or should we look for a place further away and take subway? Not afraid to spend some cash but don't need luxury accomadations either.

3) Good bars in the area - What bars should we make sure we take in. been in enough strip clubs in my life so I have no desire to go to Scores or any of that bullshit.

Any other suggestion greatly appreciated.

yes you can buy the session tickets for the whole time cheaper call the big east office would not wait to long been t0 it twice it looks to be a while before i get to go again 3-4 years when wvu has a chamce. as for the other stuff you will need to get info from the ones who live there.

Use priceline.com for hotels.

I've stayed in two nice hotels right in Midtown over the past year for about 100-125 a night using priceline. Even if you stayed in midtown (mid 50's), you're a nice walk, a $7 cab ride, or a quick subway ride from the garden. It can be hit or miss, though. I stayed in a place called the Hudson that was a room with a bed, with about 12 inches on either side of the bed. Sitting on the toilet, my knees hit the wall and I'm about 5'5".

Look for deals at The Warwick or The Shoreham. Both nice. Both around 55th. Both roomy.

Midtown is right near the park, too, if you're up for walking around or jogging or anything.

As for bars, shit dude, its new york city. There's 10,000 to choose from. There's anything you want depending on your scene.

I'm just a frequent visitor, though. No real expert.

Plenty of good Irish bars near MSG..can't help but bump into a few of them. Tickets are easy to get for the first couple of rounds, especially during the early session. Once you get to the semi's and final, a tougher ticket to get (for the better seats).

If I don't get free tickets from a local business to the SEC tournament, I just go to the venue and wait for one of the losing team's fans to leave. They usually pawn the tickets off pretty cheap.

It's really easy when UK loses because they travel in droves! Their basketball fan base has to be the best travelling group for b-ball in the country. You watch the Maui Classic or the Alaskan Shootout when tehy are there and see how much Blue there is. It is amazing!

Used priceline and got a suite in Murray Hill section ( by Grand Central) for 65 a night. Sweet deal. Rack rate is 185 night.

Still waiting to find out about tickets. there are four of us going so buying from fleeing fans does not look like an alternative since we would like seats together.
