lowell, you are amazing. How do you conclude that Barnes sucks when they lose to the regular season Big 12 champs after he led them to the title game? Don't even attempt to answer that question. OSU has been picked by several analysts to go to the Final Four and perhaps beyond. You have no idea what Barnes has done with this team since he has arrived. Have you forgotten that we were in the Final Four a year ago? He won the Big 12 regular season crown with 7 scholarship players the 1st year he arrived here. I can rattle off 10 big games off the top of my head that he has won in the last few years. We have a deep bench, not so much a talented lineup as some might think. This is not football. A few losses here and there do not damage an entire season.

Kind of hard to blame Barnes. If anyone shot the ball even a little Texas would win that game. The strategy was fine, but no one finished the plays. Hell, it was a 4 point game relatively late and Texas hadnt made a fg in 10 minutes.
As a fan I am glad they got this out of their system Witht he right matchups they could still get to SA but probably 2 and done, if that. This game also confirmed my skepticism about OSU. I will let you know in 15 minutes but my guess is they dont see the 2nd weekend.

funny thing is you have TJ back Horns probably undefeated and all praising Barnes as he takes Texas to FF in San Antonio
Barnes is considerd not a great bench coach.Decent,avg but not great.He is in the middle of the pack with game adjustments.
Now as a person and coach he sucks.He is a backstabber and liar.Hated among most coaches in the MAAC,Big east,A-10 and ACC.
Everyone knows the story.He was at George Mason back in the late 80's
Gordan Cheisa the Manhattan coach was now at Prov.Gordie is one of the best teachers in the game. a personnel good friend of mine so this hurt even more.
Prov had a star whose name escapes me now.The kid went to my HS.Gordie benched his ass a few games for attitude,not passing the ball,late to practices,etc.
The jerk threatened to transfer unless Prov fired Gordan.Prov talked to Barnes on the side.Barnes ended up calling this kid before he took the job and agreed with the kid.Talked bad about Gordan.Now I know this 1st hand and so do about 50-60 D-1 coaches.
Prov fires Gordie and Barnes gets the job.Of course the kid stays.But Barnes continues to bad mouth Gordan.Every BE coach hated his ass during his whole stay at Prov.
When he went to the ACC and Clemson it continued.I believe he and Dean almost had a fist fight at NC.
I know a lot more stories about Barnes.I think he is a pretty good coach.Can recruit thats for sure.As a person he is an ass..h

BIG 12 fans chill.i am just making fun of how do you only score 40 some points in a tourney final.for some reason i think bobby knight would of done better.i loved seeing john lucas so pumped over his son at the end of the game.i saw the game and i guess you have great football and we in the acc have great basketball.too boring in my opinion.
Interesting stuff about Barnes & his antics Box .... he puts on that outward face like he is such a gentlemen, Christian, etc. but it appears he may not be such a great guy after all .... he has definitely turned Texas into a solid program, but makes you wonder .... good info Box
great recruiter, but i think he stinks as a floor coach. this is the 3rd time to play this team and they have no answers. the ok st team is quick and def excellent. the only texas adv was in the paint with klotz. tell me why buckman is left for dead on the bench? frustrating to see boddicker out there at all. he reminds me of dan majerle at the end of his career in phoenix. realyy thought the game went back to ok st when klotz came out in the 2nd half. both of these are excellent, but i think texas is poorer decision maker of the two.
