I like to fade selections with over 60% of the consensus on them. Here are the current stats from Category 1 (Public). Again this week, the public is overwhelmingly on just 1 dog (Cleveland), although last week the public was right (Buffalo).

Top Sides:
Denver -7.... 77% (Monday) *****
Tampa Bay -7.... 73%
Cleveland +6.... 72%
Miami -3.... 71%
New Orleans -8.... 67%
Oakland -7.... 66%
NY Giants -3.... 63%
New England -3.... 61%

Top Totals:
Houston Over 35.... 79% *****
Tennessee Over 43'.... 70%
Dallas Over 44.... 70%
New Orleans Over 46.... 60%
Chicago Over 44.... 60%

***** = selections where the public is heavily on one side, but the line moved the opposite direction.

correct me if i'm wrong, but you say that 79% was on the Houston Over 35. this did not win?? just correcting the last post, i think?

i like your idea though. last night was a prime example.

Ya, these weren't 5-star picks or recommendations by me (see the note for what "*****" means). I was saying I'd advise going AGAINST these plays, or at least considering it, since I think more than half of these sides and totals as the season goes on will be wrong.

The consensus sides went 3-5, but the totals went 4-1, so not a money-maker this week if you were opposing these. But I also wouldn't blindly oppose everything from the consensus...just use it to guage public opinion.

And again this week, the one dog the public picked covered but did not win. I find that VERY unusual.
