every year since...ohhh...2002, it has pitted the instate rivals from florida....
those powerhouses - florida international and florida atlantic.
FIU is a nightmare right now. 0 and whatever, they've mustered up one td in their last 4 games, had the bench clearing brawl against miami, (which resulted in numerous suspensions, most of them still being served) and their head coach, don strock, put in his resignation last week. he is sticking around to finish out the season, which for FIU includes this game on saturday and one more 12/2(troy).
FAU on the other hand is 4 and 7, winning 4 of their last 7. unlike FIU, this is the last game of their season, last game for the seniors.
the shula bowl series stands at 3 wins to 1 for FAU, their only loss coming last year at FIU. a 52-6 whooping. this year FAU is the home team, which for this particular game is at pro player, or dolphin stadium (pretty cool for the players). FAU's QB rusty smith is questionable, but he has basically shared time with jr sean clayton, so no worries there.
really like FAU to stomp FIU in this game.
