Louisville -36.5
Poor Orange looking ugly this year, and always worse on the road. Louisville looking to bash their opponent after high scoring - losing affair in Kentucky. Predicted score: 70-3
Toledo +4
Did anyone notice that this non aptly named Cyclone team lost to an AA school. So, yes, they got up for the rivalry game vs Hawkeyes, but I am inclined to take points with Toledo squad that's 6-1 as a home dog last 7 in their house. Iowa State offense not exactly en fuego and this looks like a let-down after exerting all of their positive energy on rivalry weekend, not to mention they haven't covered as road chalk since 2001! (granted they haven't been road favorites all that often, but that's 7 years ago people!!!)
Ohio St -23
I'm not one for big spreads, unless I'm at a buffet or if I'm an 18 year old fratboy at a sorority party, but this seems like a done deal. The not-so-wildcat Northwestern team lost to the Bluedevils (their first SU win in 23 games) at home and now they go on the road for the Big 10 opener. Not to mention OSU got a nice confidence builder bashing U-Dub in the real "northwest"! Take the buck-i's and collect! Added comfort - NW 2-3-1 last 6 ATS vs Ohio St!
Clemson -7
Only initial concern is: "Why is this line only 7?" "Teen-Wolf" pack is 1-8 ATS last 9. Clemson much quicker on both sides of the ball! Sucker bet, and I'm a sucker!
Cincy -23.5
Oddsmakers have finally caught up to this Big East juggernaught. Remember this was the team that beat Rutgers handily last year, 30-11??? Yep, and this year's team returned 15 starters while pounding the opposition 140-16 so far in 3 games. Have they faced much?... Well, not really but then again is floundering Herd much?...Not really. Lay the pts in Bearcat land!
Oregon -16.5
Another funky line in this game. They may be smart in Stanford, but the smarter move here is to take the team avging 47 pts per game. Don't see the cardinals stopping this creative offense and OU has covered the last 5 in this series. Pac 10 bashing - take the higher flying Ducks to soar past their Cardinal rival!
Go against the Trends:
Cal - 16
The Bears are a lowly 1-11-1 in last 12 as a double digit fav, but I like the revenge factor here. It played out well vs Volunteers in week 1 and I've been the only one "upset" backing the underdog, a supposed improving AZ squad! Make it 2-11-1 for a superior firepower team in their Pac 10 home opener!
Good Luck all!!
