G2 around these parts indicates the Gopher boys have flat out quit on coach Mason. No bowl game in sight. Nothing to play for, except for Mason's departure. Look for the improving Hoosiers to come into the dome and beat Minnesota outright at 2:1 odds.

Yeah, two awful teams, but going in different directions. Mason is lame duck right now, especially after what just happened in East Lansing. Y'think these kids will play hard for his last 3 games? Not.

like the play but dont agree on mason. hes done a lot with that program. deck is stacked against him but he still puts a good team on the field. shitty year for sure but not sure if the coach is the problem. think the hoosiers win outright though.

They can't fire him, they just gave him an extension. No way a notoriously cheap University eats the rest of it for one poor season.

GL with the play.

Solid sources say "he's gone"... Mason is not well liked around here (doesn't take fan calls, acts like a pompous *ss most of the time, etc.) He has lost every big game opportunity since he's been in Minny and this year is by far his worst -- NDSU hits that field goal and they lose to a former Division 1-AA school. My biggest play of the year is on Indiana Saturday.

If he does get canned, the Gophers must be printing their own money. With the guarantees in coach's contracts these days--and no way anyone else gives Mason a job--they'd be on the hook for two contracts 3 years out from their new stadium being opened.
Once the new place gets opened--with the new skyboxes that will generate much needed revenues--then I think they ax Mason, but not before then.
Time will give us the answer, though. I like the Hooisers straight up in this one, too.

Wish you luck on the game, but theres no chance Mason is going anywhere unless he decides to move on. They just signed the guy to a long term deal and he runs a squeaky clean program which is something Minnesota did not have before he got there. Other then Holtz whom has the Gophers had as a coach that took them bowling nearly every year?

Theres no doubt about that, but I believe that he recruited them. My question has anyone been as successful at Minnesota as Mason? I mean the state is not exactly a hotbed for recruiting talent and he has usually fielded a solid team that wins 7 to 8 games a year. The guy is a solid coach and he even won at Kansas when no one had done jack shit there for 30 years.
