this conference moved their games to a saturday/monday schedule. the first conference game had 1 big upset with ucriverside as +23 dog beat straight up pacific by 12. this sets up a must win for tigers vs. conference pick csufullerton.


i'll give my reasons later but so far i'm taking: overnight odds.

csufullerton +8.5 small play
ucirvine +4.5 med. play

CSN won/cov vs riverside both times last year and never gave more than 10.

Now, CSN has lost/no cover five out of six and are laying 12 to a team who just won outright as a 22' road dog?

ok, not as detailed as i would like but i'm working...
fullerton travelled extensively during non-conference so they shouldn't be affected by the road trip.secondly, the reason riverside won was guard play (fullerton strength/advantage).

irvine shoots better and they can make their ft's which is a major reason why long beach st. on saturday covered the spread. the gauchos shot 64.5% letting 49er's keep it close. 2nd reason is irvine #1 in 3-point shooting, they can shoot the ball.

i think riverside gets ripped a new ONE tonite, the pressure defense matadors plays out perfectly against a team still finding its way with a new system (new coach, paul westhead, run n' gun). after a nearly impossible win, theres great value in csun!

i like san diego to finish off their roadtrip against a bad shooting pepperdine team, but expect a tough game. not an easy cover! but with small line, its the rightside. senior center nick lewis will be the difference!!!
