Radio host: I'm mad at McCain

When we last left radio talk show host Bill Cunningham yesterday, John McCain was busy apologizing for the red-meat comments Cunningham tossed out as a warm-up act at a McCain rally in Cincinnati.

Cunningham isn't too happy about McCain's repudiation, to put it mildly.

Our sister newspaper, the Cincinnati Enquirer, covers the aftermath, noting Cunningham told CNN's John Roberts that "all was well. No problem whatsoever until about an hour later . . .when John McCain threw me under the bus, under the Straight Talk Express. I got thrown under the bus."

"Why is he attacking me and not Obama or Hillary? He ought to attack Democrats and quit attacking conservatives like me," Cunningham said. "I've had it up to here with John McCain. He's off the list. I'm joining Ann Coulter in supporting Hillary Rodham Clinton."

Someone who tells it like it is. All he did was use Barack Hussein Obama's full name. If he is ashamed of his name then change it.

Fail to see the validity of your point. Does he use other candidate's middle names, pointedly, for political effect, or just Obama's? I think we all know that answer. Did Obama react to Cunningham's using his middle name? Maybe he did, I haven't seen that, but if not, then how can you say Obama is ashamed of it? I would guess he is probably bothered by the name situation, truth be told.

And it was McCain who had a problem with it, or at least expressed that, so that has nothing to do with Obama, right?

Although I am a registered Democrat, I always felt that McCain was a man of honor and dignity, and this episode proves it.

I don't think I've ever heard Bill Cunningham before. Why would anyone care if he uses Obama's full name or not? Anyone thats gonna vote for or against someone just because of their name will prob. be vying for a Darwin award at some point in their life. Also, I doubt they'd be likely to switch their vote if thats their reason for voting for or against someone. I'd be a little more concerned with someone calling me a corrupt hack than saying my full name.

Now this did effect Gaydolph Titler's campaign back in the 1950s. :nono:

I certainly wont be voting for Obama or HRC but I think Cunningham was a piss poor choice to introduce McCain. Comes across as a crass ass.
