Once again your ignorance is only surpassed by smurphy's.

ALL DRILLING AND NEW REFINERIES have been blocked by the environmental wackos and their lobbists along the democratic party. These wackos hold up development and make building new housing and roads an adventure in futility.

These are the idiots behind halting all the drilling and the building of new refineries in this country, not Dick Cheney.

You and your left wing or bush hating kind are all alike, IGNORANT.

Unreal. Your right wing oil and energy-related cabal has had control of the White House and the Republicans have had control over the House and Senate now for going on six years. The oil execs and lobbyists have had direct input to our current energy policies and have benefitted incredibly due to tax incentives and breaks specifically promoted by this administration. And you say left wing wackos have stopped the building of new refineries - which is precisely what the incentives and tax breaks were supposed to provide for. The oil companies have made billions more in profits in the past 2 years, after the legislation took effect. What new refineries have been proposed by any company, legislator, etc? What ones have been blocked by left wing wackos? Do you have any evidence of this, or are you just full of BS? (No answer really required for me on that one, thanks).

For that matter, what development, housing and roads have been held up by the "wackos?" This is more probable, but I doubt you have any facts about this. You may find one now, when put on the spot, but I doubt you had any when you spouted off your political BS.

Stevie -- not saying that it is the total reason because big oil companies do scare me with their amount of power, but there are more and more drivers and the cars that we are choosing to buy are getting less and less gas mileage.

Look at how many SUVs are on the road packed into the traffic. And that is with $3 per gallon gas. At what point do they stop driving those (the vast percentage who does not need a Tahoe/Expedtion)?

Now as for the oil companies takling advantage, I have no doubt there is some of that going on as well. But you can't blame them completely if it doesn't slow consumption down at all. It sucks bad, but we as the general public have to make a stand at some point, right?

And I am not trying to incite any arguments. This is simply an opinion.
