Bill Maher Stoops to New Low: ?Hate Sex? Fantasies About Michele Bachmann and Rick Santorum

Let?s begin with an obvious disclaimer ? writing about the vile bitterness of Bill Maher is not worth the time it takes to type this sentence ? he is irrelevant, and nothing more than a crass ?shock jock? on HBO. In the scheme of things, Bill Maher is a pathetic cartoon.
Having said that, I wrote this post for two reasons: This grotesque clown, who calls Sarah Palin, ?the leader of a strange family of inbred-weirdos straight out of ?The Hills Have Eyes?,? has crossed a line that not even someone as vile and hateful as Maher should cross.
More importantly, where is the outcry and condemnation in the ?mainstream? media over this disgusting display of vulagarity? It does not exist ? nor will it ever ? and Maher and his left-wing pals know it.
Imagine, for a moment, what would happen if these things had been said by a conservative ?comedian? in reference to Barack and Michelle Obama. Or any Democrat, for that matter.
Potentially the most vile political discussion ever aired on national television occurred on Friday?s HBO program ?Real Time.?
After former Air America ?comedian? Marc Maron said he wanted to have violent hate sex with Michele Bachmann, sex advice columnist Dan Savage offered that he?d like to do the same with Rick Santorum. Here?s a partial (semi-graphic) transcript:
DAN SAVAGE, SEX ADVICE COLUMNIST: They?re grifters and scumbags, the Bachmanns.
[Applause]
BILL MAHER, HOST: Grifters and scumbags.
SAVAGE: Yes
MAHER: Not just one or the other.
SAVAGE: They?re not charming grifters like in the movie.
MAHER: No, no.
MARC MARON, COMEDIAN: I don?t want to be crass but I just hope that Marcus Bachmann takes all that, you know, rage that comes from repression and denial and brings it into the bedroom with her. I hope he f?ks her angrily because, because that?s how I would. And I?ve thought about it. I just?

MARON: ?It?s a political statement I?m trying to make.
SAVAGE: Just so we get, just so you don?t get charges of sexism, because only Michele Bachmann was involved, I sometimes think about f?king the s?t out of Rick Santorum.

MARON: I?m with you.
SAVAGE: ?he needs it. So, it?s not, it?s not just women we?re talking about f?king. Like, let?s bone that Santorum boy.

So this is what we?ve come to. There will always be vile, angry people who manage to find platforms to spew vile, angry hatred toward those with whom they disagree. Nothing new about that. What is ?new,? and more of a statement on the sad state of our society than it is about smug jerks who have no shame, is this: Our country, and the things we accept ? or refuse to fight ? is a far cry from what it was not so long ago. That should sadden us deeply.
?Political correctness? is an interesting concept, isn?t it? We must tiptoe around certain subjects, people, religions and cultures; but when it comes to attacking conservatives ? particularly Christian conservatives, we are allowed to say ? without impunity ? the most vile, hateful things imaginable.
What is right about that?
