BLAST FROM THE PAST (quotes)

We all know history often repeats itself. Last year after USC beat OU, I enjoyed going back and reading all the posters comments prior when talking about the game and saved them to word. I knew USC be back in the BCS NC game and would post this again. Reminding people of their actions and to not make the same mistakes twice. I really enjoyed reading these! :grins:

Before you log onto your sportsbook and lay big bet on Texas over USC, you might want to prevent yourself from making the same mistakes as these people. History often repeats itself, remember that!

I'll be looking to take some points in that NC game. NEVER did I think OU was this tough..... Tough CU loss for me tonight.......

How anyone could vote them ahead of OU and Auburn must be a complete fool.

They beat Cal....LMAO....look at that unit....playing aagainst Prarie View errrr Southern Miss tonight....

are you ever going to acknowledge the fact that usc struggled in 8 of their 12 games this year? you talk a lot of shit about oklahoma and auburn, but usc is the only undefeated team that has been consistently inconsistent. they put a solid 40:00 together just 4 out of 12 games, and yet theyre somehow a runaway #1 to you?

USC is totally overrated. Playing yet another close game against a mediocre, at best, UCLA team. Only team they played ALL YEAR other than Cal was Va Tech, and USC should have lost that if it wasn't for terrible officiating. Auburn #1, OU #2, USC #3; Who cares what USC did last year, cause that is why they are ranked 1st, not for all of their great comebacks this year. Play in a real conference, not the Crap 10.

Auburn is the best all around team in the country, with Oklahoma a close second. So Cal is a solid team but should be the team that is left out if want want to crown a true national championship team. UCLA has one of the softest interior lines on both sides of the bal lin the country after they played Okie State some of the Cowboys were quoted as saying they saw stronger lines in high school. Without a few bullcrap calls in the game USC very well could be behind to a team that is average at best.

OU wins this outright, nuff said. This will be an easy winner for me OU ML and OU and the points. Two words can clearly describe USC:

It also cannot be ignored that the PAC 10 schedule has been as weak as any BCS conference with the possible (?) exception of the Big East. Realistically, the Whack-10 teams that are in BCS bowl games, have played a whole bunch of nobodys.

There is no question that this seaon, Oklahoma has the benefit of having played against MUCH better competition than the Trojans.

Pretty easy to look good in a conference at weak as the Pac-10. If the Sooners play a decent game, they should win easily.

The PAC-10 sucks and that will be shown plainly in one week!

Cal is a typical PAC 10 defense which is soft! I know Scott will try to save face that Cal lost because 1) Injuries, 2) they didnt want to be at the holiday bowl or 3) Texas Tech had more fans there. This showing by Cal more than backs up my contention that Auburn should be playing Okie in the title game as we have seen the Big 12 and SEC are much more deeper leagues than the PAC 10. This is really a brutal black eye tonight on the PAC 10, Texas Tech has very little defense and they are looking like a NFL team tonight against a team USC very easily could of lost to

Why would this go to the dumpster? Look at the posts NOW on the forum about USC/Texas. They closely resemble the posts 1 year ago today. LEARN FROM THE PAST! You want to run away from it by putting it in dumpster. :mj07:

Those were exactly my thoughts Scott.
I was awaiting your reply with mine already in mind, and the Gman took the words right out of my mouth. Including the thought you were a good poster. Actually I still think that, just you stepped over the line here with the way this is presented. If you wanted to make this point without offending 1/2 the board/forum. You might have asked if anyone is interested in hearing some qoutes from last year that would have bearing on this years NC?

HELL, MJ gives you the option to look back. That is what I did when I got home from Florida last year. It was fun reading the quotes and i knew people be saying the same stuff now. Take it for what its worth. But don't bitch about it saying it should go in dumpster. Maybe general forum but I think this applies to handicapping.

You learn from the past when you handicap. Don't take Texas because you think Pac 10 sucks. Don't think USC is over-rated because you think Pac 10 sucks. These people DID and were wrong. I would substitute USC for Oklahoma as the number 2 team, but all the rest is true. UCLA still is soft as jello on the interior lines and Cal is still not a solid team. Why don't you post one of the hundreds of asnine comments that you have posted in the past.
