i recently began running again. About 5 miles a day. four days a week. Nothing too major. I was just looking if any1 on Madjacks are runners bc i can't seem to prevent these blisters on my feet.

Most of my blisters are on my heels, but i do get them in the middle of my foot and toward the sides of my feet. Does any1 have an remedies on how to prevent them? Shoe advice, socks....etc

No advice, its probably a good time to wash your feet and change your socks, throw out the 10 year old pairs of socks that you consistently wear to play softball in, go over to Marshalls in Clark and pick up some new socks.
It wouldnt hurt getting a decent pair of running shoes.

If this doesnt work, just take piss on your feet in the shower, that always worked in college

2much, you are talking like you havent gotten that much sleep.......

for your information i work out at the gym 4-5 days a week for a couple hours each day. 1 hour of which is on the treadmill and stationary bike. i guess thats not enough.

Thats the least you could do for losing my digital camera ($499) and breaking my bed ($399)

So considering those two items, ill just take that labor off the tab. $800 for a couple hours of work, not bad if you ask me.

The salt never ceases -- thanks for a good laugh.

2much -- I had similar questions this summer and I was refered to a running store in downtown Summit for new shoes. Based on your foot and bone structure they recommended good running shoes for me. Honestly haven't had a problem since. I can't remember the name of the place off hand, I'll have to look it up and will let you know.

Funny ass thread...had me rollin :142lmao: :142lmao:

Maybe its not the shoes or socks, try to start using some foot lotion or soaking your feet in epsom salt after you run. Just a thought.

I don't know if this will help or not??? I buy my running shoes at a running shoe store, that's all they sell. The people there are all pros and they carry all the different widths. Maybe you should seek out a store like that and see if your shoes are fitted correctly, maybe there to wide and it's causing a rub????????? Good luck.

I used to get blisters, and I tried all the different socks I could find. Helped but didn't solve the problem. I then stumbled upon the "right" running shoe. I'd either find a podiatrist that knows running shoes, or more likely go to all the running specialty stores (here in Dallas the best is Lukes) and talk to the people there. Different shoes and models are made for different foot types and running styles. I have flat feet and I heel strike with some suppenation. The guy at the store made me try on different shoes and run around like an idiot in the store while he watched me, but I've been buying the same model Mizuno since he suggested it, and never a problem. Maybe I was lucky, as some people just have to try different shoes until they find the right one. The real problem comes when you have decide between some really slick looking running kicks that are Nikes that give you blisters, or buying shoes only your blind mother would love that fit you perfectly and don't give you blisters. Luckily the Mizunos I wear aren't too bad.

i actually have had foot insert made specific for my feet. I used to break a certain bone in my foot (both of them) many times over. My feet used to really hurt me after i was done running, but at least now they don't bc of the inserts.

My real problem now is just the blisters.

Yeah, that's a problem then. Insert means your foot is probably rubbing the shoe higher on the heel. I wear Thorlo's but you might want to look up wrightsocks. Just go to wrightsock dot com supposedly they are the best for blisters

Depends, are they going to give him 17 seconds in the pocket to throw the ball?

If you are getting blisters, there is something wrong with your shoe and how it fits.

Do you start having that blister pain (you know that little pain you have that tells you a blister is coming up) as soon as you start running, or is it midway or deep into your run? Maybe as you perspire, your inserts slip a bit (any insert I have ever used always moves a little) and cause a friction area?

I never got blisters when I ran competitively, but I always knew guys who did. I think some people are more prone to get them for whatever reason. Hope u get it fixed.

I wish nothing but Planter's warts, blisters, callouses, fungus, athletes foot and everything else that goes along with podiatry towards you.

May you have endless sleepless nights for the rest of your life.

sixfive i get it more halfway through my runs. I am going to try some lotion on proned areas and i am going to try running with only my inserts. I used to run with my insert then i used to put the orginal cushion on top of it. I first though the insert were giving my blisters, but it only transfered them to my heels.

an Lay the wood2, i hope u never have cable tv ever again in your life and u have to go to the library and watch all 2,000 volumes about ever war on the planet earth. I hope you never live in an area where there is cable and marry a women who does not allow cable.
