Hi all, thought it was about time I made an appearance in my own thread - well, guess I already did
rolleyes.gif

Thanks Mama for posting the pic

And thanks everyone for their comments

I'm really proud of that pic. It was taken by a professional photographer as part of a portfolio I was trying to put together. It was taken about nine months ago just before I entered my first body building competition so I was in "competition" mode - ie, the muscles are bigger than usual and I was "cut" more than I normally am.

Believe me guys, women who work out don't always look "too big" like many people think - that's just come competition time. For the most part, we look pretty damn good - like someone who looks after their body and gets it into tip-top shape.

I'm very proud of my body because it's come about through damn hard work and lots of sacrifices - no alcohol for the most part

, no ice cream, chocolate etc

Also, please don't be worried that I can't handle a crude comment or two - as you can see, I can take on plenty

I don't fall for this Political Correctness bullshit - I won't stand for racsim, sexism or any other crap but I'm not above a little teasing

So thanks again to everyone who said hello. And thanks to all who keep helping me 'cap sports. I work as a personal trainer - well, d'uh, did you think I'd work behind a desk? and I've always got the remote at work flipping the channels to see how my games are going - drives most of the staff and half of the clients nuts!!

And I'd love to be a MadJacks poster girl if Jack wants one.

Thanks again
Debi (aka Blondie)

Is that "finest hour" a personal training line or a personal TRAINING line.
smile.gif

A real training question: I don't have any lower back pain unless I do sit-ups. I always do my crunches with my back pushing to the floor, I don't lift up too high and I'm pretty sure my form is correct. What are my alternatives? Thanks, Scrubbo

Don't do the conventional situps. There are many more ab and low back exercises that should not make u hurt that Blondie can help u out with.

Blondie, I've always thought muscular women were hot! I know that takes a lot of work, so u must be a driven individual. I never have liked girls that I was afraid I would break, lol! Good luck in your competitions.

Scrubbo - sorry I haven't got back to you earlier; flat out at this time of year like everyone else
rolleyes.gif

Like 65 says, there are many other options to get those abs in shape. It sounds as if you are doing your crunches with the correct form - it may be just that you have a minor lower back problem that is exacerbated by the movement.

Try some others that don't involve much back movement - hanging knee raise, reverse crunches, side/seated twists (good for those neglected obliques), lying leg raises...
and see how that effects your back.

Or hire a damn fine personal trainer

Hope this helps. Just a note on ab work for anyone interested - as with all workouts, aim for quality and not quantity. I here so many people say "I do 500 situps in the morning and another 500 at nite". Well, quit wasting your time buddy!
I do a total of 120 abdominal exercises three times a week. The key is - make every one burn! Contract the muscles you are working on with every movement, try holding the movement for a brief period etc..

And the real bummer is - you won't get the washboard look if you keep drinking beer and eating pizza

Good luck

Thanks for the advice Debi. Speaking of pizza, I haven't had any in 2 months(I lost 15 lbs)but hosed 5 freaking slices last night. It was great.
You must be full of energy because anyone that exercises and doesn't eat shitty food has to be a handful.
Now that your picture has been posted I think its only fair more people posted pictures. Like a most wanted list.
I don't have a scanner so you won't see mine for a while. Just a thought.
Thanks again, RG

As Confucius says --

"What good are 6-pack abs without occasional enjoyment of 6-pack?"

(Remember, Confucius not only said interesting things, he sang them and accompanied himself on a kind of zither)
