Above the Clouds....
These guys put on a fantastic show and are in danger every day. Today one mistake and a pilot is gone. Sad.:sadwave: My son just called and said they flew the missing man formation over the base where he is. Does anyone know if they do that at all bases when something like that happens?

No they do not. Only the squadron suffering the loss usually does that, of course we will have to wait to see if Sponge says I am correct or not but I am pretty sure I am right. Especially being that I spent five and a half years in the Marine Corps, but lets wait and see what Sponge says first before we start thinking I am correct.

The Blue Angles always do fly-overs for the Giants and 49ers first homegames each year etc.

As well as perform cool flyovers, through the city, during our "Fleet Week."

There are grumblings that that may not happen from now on, because of this recent incident. I would sure miss that. It's really cool watching them fly barely above skyscrapers and whizz past neighborhoods scaring old ladies :142smilie

Hopefully they mourn this fallen pilot, but don't sanitize things too much.

How did this happen? Why would they not do flyovers now?

Hey fuhkstick I have friends with the maintenance crew of the Blue Angels and everyone of them are currently on active duty in the service and I will tell you what I will do in order to reimburse your lost funds on fallen shoulders. Give me your mailing address and I will send you a free airline ticket to DFW, where I will promptly meet you at the gate drag you by your bitch hairs outside and kick the hell out of you. Now before you start with the whole tough guy thing. My offer is one hundred percent on the level. So don't reply with anything but your address or send it to Jack and I will see you and your shattered eye sockets soon. p u s s y

So anyway, how did this happen?

My walls were covered with Blue Angel posters as a kid, LOVED them. My Dad was fire chief and I used to sit on top of the fire truck when they came for the local air show, it was like you could grab them when they went by standing on that thing! I'm sure Totacious has brought much more to the world than the Blue Angels ever could

You don't have to wait for me. I just stay in area's im head and shoulders above most. The Marines wouldn't be one of them as well as religion, grammar, termite control, ballroom dancing, cars, painting and a whole host of other things. What surprises me tho is your passion for this fellow. The one fellow says something classless and you rip into him. Kinda strange turn of events:shrug:

If you don't understand the compassion of a Marine for any fallen soldier that has been publicly humiliated in ANY capacity, then you don't know any ex-soldiers. Many of those pilots, contrary to popular belief that they are all Navy, are Marines. My compassion, however is extended to all of the glorious men and women that have served during war or peace. Their courageousness and heroism, regardless of the level, has provided my family with everything that I am thankful for today in some way or another. I, unlike you, am not surprised by anything you posted however.

Hope this helps,
FDC

FDC,

Some people just don't quite get it. The whole "esprit de corps" thing escaps them.

I wish more often that if people don't understand something they either ask about it, or just leave it alone.

Too many times I have witnessed, and unfortunately, been a part of... a couple of military boys hanging out and talking trash with each other about how bad it sucks doing this and that and how bad the quality of life is and yadda yadda... then johnny civilian walks in, overhears the conversation and chimes up with "yea, i fvcking hate the (insert service branch here) too."
That statement is then followed by x number of soldiers, sailors, and marines instantly bonding with each other while stomping a fvcking mudhole in that boy's @ss.

not concerned about the pilots but the lost planes at X million apiece. and the endangered public these losers are supposed to protect.

not to mention, while these amateur barnstormers are pirouetting to the delighted squeals of latent homos like marine-the-mouth-sh*tter and fatdaddypeterpoofer, we're being invaded by mexico.

cannon fodder + gay cheerleaders = giant tax bills and NO DEFENSE.

The most recent fatal crash during an air show was in 1987.

Defend?

Just for fun, I looked up the stats. Here's what Wikipedia says:

In their entire history, 24 pilots from the group have been killed in air show or training accidents. There have been 261 pilots and squad leaders in the squad's history giving the job a 9% fatality rate.[2]

That's not an impressive performance.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Angels

Real point of the Blue Angels?

...to help the Navy generate public and political support for a larger allocation of the shrinking defense budget.

Translation: to wow the goobers into wasting ever more money on asholes who endanger rather than protect us, at a cost of trillions. And all the while our coasts and borders are completely open to invasion.
