BLUE JAYS/WHITE SOX Over 8.5 +100 ? This is a bit of a contrarian play, in that this game matches up two of the best young arms in the American League in Halladay and Buehrle. However, the old saying, ?if it looks too good to be true, it probably is? comes into play here. Halladay?s last start is certainly some cause for concern, as he allowed 7 earned runs and 10 hits in only 5.2 innings vs. a less-than-spectacular Kansas City lineup. He is now winless in his last 3 starts, and Halladay has already logged a professional career high in innings pitched with his 190.1, so it may very well be that he is starting to wear down a bit. While he does have a very good 3.36 ERA on the road, the Over is still 8-6 in all his road starts. Unlike Halladay, Beuhrle is holding his fine form, with a 1.21 ERA and 0.99 WHIP in his last 3 starts. However, if Halladay struggles again tonight, Buehrle won?t have to give up more than a couple of runs for this game to go Over this relatively low total. The Blue Jays are averaging more than 6 runs per game in their last 5 games, so they should be able to scratch at least a few runs off of Buehrle. Also, similarly to Halladay, the Over is 8-6 in all of Buehrle?s home starts, despite his home ERA of 3.05. Finally, both of these teams have tended to go Over lately, as Toronto has gone Over in 8 of their last 11 games and the White Sox in 9 of their last 12.
