Heres a letter they sent to me Sunday night saying they shut down Sun at midnight. and they were offering bonuses up until recently..nice...bastards

Dear Blue Marlin Clients:
Effective Midnight Sunday, November 16th, Blue Marlin will cease all deposits and wagering operations pending sale negotiations currently underway.

This is the most agonizing and painful decision I have ever had to make. As most of you know, Blue Marlin Sports has enjoyed an excellent eight year reputation in the industry with no complaints of ?slow? or ?no? pay-outs.

With financial loss forcibly incurred from Secure Buxx, a particularly brutal football season and most recently, the repeated cyber-terrorist DOS attacks against multiple Costa Rican sports-books including Blue Marlin, we can simply no longer independently maintain operations.

I am currently in negotiations with multiple entities to transfer ownership to their respective sport-book operations. If I am successful in this transfer, clients should not sustain any financial loss. If I am unable to complete the sale, I will make every attempt to limit individual losses, however; it is important that you know there is NOT sufficient capital to compensate all clients in full. I ask that you continually monitor this website for additional information.

Again, my sincerest and heartfelt apologies to all of you, my intentions were never to hurt anyone. Please be patient as the dust settles, as I am doing everything humanly possible to protect all of you from loss.

Sincerely,

Reggie
Blue Marlin Sports

That really sucks, I had money at GA, thank god Royal came thru there.

More and more of these books are going down unfortunately, stick with the big ones.

All due respect Nick, but larger books does not guarantee anything, I've seen some "larger books" fold and take clients money with them.

Can't believe this. I had 5 outs with only Blue and one other having a balance as that is just the way my plays went lost at the other 3 and only won at Blue and the other.

If the other one goes I'm flying to where they are and get my money:mad:

Somebody has to pay one way or the other damn I wish I was in Costa Rica right now.

Yeah Nick thats a pretty dumb statement. especially since Madjack has been promoting this company since Football started. If they can fold anyone can. Obviously if players get hot like the public this year like they said horrible football season then anyone can shut down

Thats 2 accounts I have now lost online!

Closing out all my accounts after tonights bets and going through locals only.

Any book can go down. Keep your balances spread out and small. Be careful out there.

mush, I'm with you, except I have no local, but after toight's plays will have to think seriously about getting all my money from my other out and call it a season.

What is Secure Buxx they mention in the Bl Marlin letter and how does that effect them going under?????

They seem to be off the sponsor's list. Glad I cashed out their after Baseball season. Hope you all with accounts frozen their get your monies.

Stick to well known books and stay clear of any book offering big bonuses. Everyone should know that by now.

What Nick means is books like Olympic and CRIS are in totally different leagues than Blue Marlin. Blue Marlin was far from a 'large' book. If you are going to have a decent chunk of change at offshore books, it would probably be safest to have it spread around at places like CRIS, Olympic, WSEX, maybe Pinnacle.

As you can see just by reading these posts......the panic effect is trickling down to anyone who has money offshore and who has heard of whats happened. This is going to result in a whole lot of cash being withdrawn at other books still in operation......which, in my opinion, will further increase the chances of more operations going under.

I have more than 3 dimes at Olympic right now....and I know they're a larger book....but I gotta be honest with you.....the panic effect has set in right here as well.

One of the reasons I sunk cash into an offshore this year....was because the only local out I had was somewhat of a shady character. So I told him I was going to take a break from gambling for awhile. Whats he do? He drops hints about gambling for the next month......just like a drug dealer....to try to get me back off the wagon and placing bets with him. Translation:Shady

I know this is what a lot of books are like.....but this guy was a 15 year friend of mine.

So now I either leave my dough in Olympic and just prey they dont implode with my 3+ dimes (which is a shitload of cash to me)......or I withdraw and go back to Stan....who's just aching to sell me an ounce of the Cardinals plus 7 so he can further along his retirement plan with hopes I go broke.

Or C....I quit playing games.....and thats a sad thought to me because I really enjoy it....and I'm up 12 units this year.

Sucks to be a gambler......because sometimes when you win.....you actually lose. But you always lose when you lose.

Sorry Ctwonguy and others.

Hey Hoops, why "maybe" Pinnacle? I would say "maybe" CRIS or maybe not even recommend them before I would shade Pinnacle.

I have two good friends that are rather large locals (obviously does not do the handle of an offshore, but pretty large nonetheless) and neither of them have had a losing week since the second week of the NCAA football season.

I think saying that this year's football season was rough is complete load of shit.

the football season and securebuxx are good excuses when a book steals your money.

The book should not be using post up money to fund the sportsbook, the clients money should be held in trust, so you can get your money any time you want. it is not there money.

securebuxx was not run well, so question any book as to why they would do business with them. When someone takes your money they will come up with excuses so they can shift the blame.

they stole your money. never had money at the book.

keep all of your balances low, when I win (it can happen, withdraw my orginal deposit and some winnings). Also spread your money around some established books, that is all you can do...

thanks

Because I think CRIS is a stronger book than Pinnacle. Just my opinion.

This is another reason why our government should step up and make internet gambling legal. The activity is not going anywhere, fellas. This simply would not happen if these businesses were being monitored. There would be a lot fewer books because most could not hack the stringent requirements (similar to what banks have to abide by), but the ones that were there would be safer to gamble with.
