Thanks for the great vids!!

As a 540i owner (6speed) I just love that stuff. I have often thought about taking the next step up to the M5 but I am not overly excited by the new 5s(e60) styling.

As far as the 510 horses go, serioiusly man, how fast do you really need to go. I can and have got mine up to close to 145- 150 mph with no factory mods what so ever. There is a chip that shuts you down at 155. It is also my belief that you need a Dinan chip to excede 155 MPH even in a current model M5, though naturally you will reach 155mph much faster.

Still in love with the classic lines of the e39:cool:

spang,

the owner of the M5 in the video, has a dinan chip, a bansai exhaust system, and a 18 psi turbo set up on top of the aftermarket options that the M5 comes with,

a great car indeed

it really depends what your spending amount is....

according to the black book, a 2001 BMW 320i assuming it has average km's goes for around 23-28K

I would rather spend 30k, and purchase a brand new Acura TL series...

if you're going to get a bmw, I would highly recommend the 325, or better yet the 540, or m5....

Personally, I prefer a new car over a used one, but then again it all depends on your budget...

if you do plan to purchase a used bmw, please make sure you take it to a mechanic for a visual inspection (raises it on the hoist).
Hopefully, it is a mechanic whom you trust
if you need anything else let me know.
in terms of recommending a dealer... i would go to Marinello up on steeles ave... top quality customer service...

definitely go private, also see if you are able to find a female driver as the previous owner... ask for maintenance records as well... you want to make sure the car you're about to purchase was pampered....
