This is a great series.
Nucky has gone to the dark side. When he was treasurer, he seemed to be mindful of other people and in a public service role while lining his own pockets. Nothing new to the world of politics.
But now he has turned evil.
Funny shit about Margret Schroeder giving away the land. Nucky isn't worth much now. He's gonna blow his fucking lid.
The best character on TV hands down is Richard. What a cool mutherfucker.

Thought the first episode was weak at best. Yes they do have to build all new story lines. Episode was still mediocre at best. I think they are going to lose a lot of people this season based on the story line and direction things seem to be moving.
Only 8 fucking episodes? First two seasons with 12 a piece and they make us wait a year for only 8 episodes?? Saint is predicting big loss in viewers this year, not just on the paltry number of episodes but on the direction of the show.
Good to see Richard Harrow got some payback.......
I sure hope the writers don't kill him off. We have to have somebody to root for, killing Richard off would be a big error.

I will say that the first episode lacked for me as well, I loved the opening scene with the guy and his dog and the line "What else would it be".....
That set up the new villain very well.
Man, I hate it that we didn't get to see Nucky's reaction to Margret donating the land......WTF???
The Egypt party was too much.....

I suppose they are going by the real story of Nucky, which is interesting, it is real life and sometimes it isn't as entertaining.
You nailed it. Because they are going loosely off Nucky's real-life they had to move this direction. Unfortunately it's not a show where you are going to have a 'large group' of recurring characters like the Sopranos.
The yiddish-speaking Manny Horvitz was my second favorite character...loved that guy.
Agree that the party was over the top. Also agree about lack of showing Nucky's reaction to the land. If they are trying to frame him as going the ruthless gangster route then his reaction to the land would have been out of control, ie beating Margaret, etc.
Jimmy's mom....now she's one I'd like to see get taken out. Without Jimmy though it just felt empty, it's hard to explain.
I think 95 percent of viewers want her dead, she's a great actress, she makes you hate her. Something tells me that in Season III she'll be killed off. Maybe Richard Harrow might finally have enough of her shit and blow her head off.

Also.....Margaret Thompson can't be too happy that Nucky is with a "new chick". Something tells me she'll be getting some action from the "doctor" or Owen by seasons end.
Good to see Albert "Chalky" White back on screen, I like that character:0074

Wow! What an ending. They finally took the leash of of Richard Harrow.. He is the shows coolest character and he was basically nothing but a baby sitter the entire season. Great scene. hopefully Knuck took notice of his handy work and will recruit him next season.
So did the mom OD?? Or is she still alive?
Kinda sad to see Rosetti go. He made an excellent villian.
Cant wait to see where they go next.

I was really hoping the writers would kill off "red", but it looks like she did not O.D. and will survive....that sucks.
As for Harrow......great scene.
it had it's goods and bads, Rosettis death was lame and i was hoping more of ex agent Van Alden. Maybe he teams up with Harrow later...
