I just wish he'd give up broadcasting.

He's really lost his game.

:nooo:

I remember you saying this in a thread a couple years ago. I think you are in the distinct (and completely incorrect) minority on this one. Granted, if the Brewers fan base has the same collective IQ of the Packer fans who still think that Ted Thompson is the devil because he decided to go with Rodgers over Favre, that's not a ringing endorsement of you being wrong in this case.

But Uecker is still the man.

It's more than obvious that you don't currently listen to Brewer games on the radio. I've practically given up on radio broadcasts, but still tune in when I'm in the car, or at work and they are on. He has become absolutely horrid in his calls of homers, and balls and strikes.

"Get up, get outta here........it's off the wall!" Or, Caught on the track.

He has yapped that more often then not this season. Or: "Swing and a DRIIIIIIVE!..........That one's gonna be caught just shy of the warning track."

He has you jumping out of your seat on every shot to the outfield, and he looks like one of those dopes who stands up and cheers everytime a ball gets hit, even though it's going to be caught.

Christ, yesterday he gave us his swing and a drive, and finishes with, "it one-hopped the wall"!

And all day long you hear, "There's one in there for a strike.........no'h.......he called that one a ball."

The guy was always one of my heros, and he always made me laugh when the game was slowing down. Lord knows he's deserved to call some winning baseball over the last four decades, too. But, if he's having some issues in his advancing years, he should hang it up.

I listen to at least one game a week on mlb.com. And hell, he only calls like four innings a game. I'm not even saying your complaints aren't valid, but I'm still a fan. No reason for him to hang 'em up.

Agree with you on Ueker.. The new other inning announcer is the one who is Brutal... Most Packer fans who I talk to are not mad at Thompson for the Rodgers/Favre deal anymore. They are more mad because the Pack do little off-season activity. Many fans feel that Thompson only wants to build the team via the draft and feel that the days of just using the draft are over...
