Today we begin our look at NCAA football odds with a Big East Conference overview. West Virginia and Pittsburgh are the favorites in the Big East with 5/2 odds, followed closely by Connecticut (3/1); Cincinnati, Rutgers, and South Florida (6/1); and Louisville (9/1).
Although there are bigger, most prestigious conferences, the Big East has come close to providing some major BCS Bowl busters the past few seasons, with Louisville, West Virginia, and Cincinnati all flirting with the National Championship over the past three years.
Voter bias is certainly a problem, as the Big East doesn?t get the respect it needs to make the title game. But, after three ?close but not quite? finishes, perhaps this is the season things are different. Either way, the Big East winner is going to need to finish undefeated?and in convincing fashion. Anything less and it?s a regular old bowl game for the Big East champ.
