So much has been written about this game.Not going to bore anyone.I spent a lot of time on it.
Boise offense with Dinwiddie is the real deal.Passed for 28 tds and ran for 12.Has good running backs,and good WR's.Ranked on offense in the top 5 in a whole bunch of catogories.
Has scored 77,62,56,51,50,45,45,and 43.I know its vs the UTEPsand the San Jose Sts,etc.But they did beat BYU,Fresno,Hawaii's.And most of those above pts were there last 6 games.They are 6-1 ats in last 7.
But lets not forget their defense.It's ranked higher then TCU's and thats all what we hear about.TCU defense.Granted they did have a bad game vs Houston but TCU's wins thrives on defense.
But Boise 's defense has held teams to 0,3,3,10,12,14,17,17 and 21.Again its against the Idaho's,Nevada's and the Smoo's. And speaking of Smoo.That is one team they both played at Smoo.TCU -24 pts struggled and beat Smoo 20-13, 3 weeks ago.Boise -24 beat them 45-3.TCU the week before the Smoo game lost to So Miss.
Boise defense is quick and I think can stop the TCU running game.TCU defense cannot stop Dinwiddie and co.
Boise St wins big here by 3 or 4 tds.Home crowd not a big factor.And I hope all the TCU players passed their finals because they gave up a game in Hawaii to play at home in Forth Worth.
Fort Worth...In 1969 Box and his best friend go to North Texas St.My draft number is 76 so if I don't go to college I'm in the Army.We all got 2-S's.[Student deferments]
Being a New Yorker and knowing nothing about Texas,Dallas and Fort Worth.Thought Ft Worth was an Army base.
Maybe about a month later after arriving in Denton it's hit with a "tornado watch".The tornado just hit Ft Worth and was coming up I-35 to Denton.
My dorm was on the edge of campus right near the football stad.My best friend and I pushed a bed over to the window and we looked out towards Fort Worth.It was so flat you could see at nite the lites of Ft Worth over 25 miles away.
We were listening to the radio and the tornado path from Fort Worth.KDNT.People were reporting on the radio giving updates of the path of the tornado.Being NY's this was exciting.We had never seen a tornado,been in a watch or warning.
KDNT had 4 cars reporting where the tornado was."Mobile one.reporting...I'm on I-35 heading west...nothing here." Mobile 2" "I'm out on Rt 26...nothing here."
Then we realized..these guys weren't using radar.They were in cars driving towards Ft worth looking for the tornados.
I always wondered what kind of a job that was.And when they found it what would they do. Mobile 3 reporting..."I see it..yea...yea..I'm in it...damnnnnn............"
What does this have to do with Boise St tonite.I don't know but thats my favorite Fort Worth story.We never did see the tornado.To this day my best friend and I always remember the famos Ft Worth tornado that never came......but just maybe a tornado with the name Dinwiddie is coming to town tonite..
