It's a WAC thing (giving # of player committing penalty). They originally didn't want to do this b/c they (NCAA) didn't want to single out college players.... but with today's media coverage everyone knows who the offender is, so might as well call the #. I like it as it adds a tad more accountability to refs making close calls.
