Boise seems to be firing on all cylinders right now, but I am not an expert on the west coast teams. -26 is an awful lot of points but they have beat the hell out of San Jose the past two years. ANY THOUGHTS??

They played SMU last week in front of a crowd of maybe 2500. Only Buffalo and Army are worse than SMU. I wouldn't use last week's game as a measuring stick. Then again, maybe Boise's coming around. As bad as SMU is, a blowout win might get things rolling for Boise.

A few notes on this game...all records are ATS...

Boise State is 10-3 against teams with a losing record over the past three years.

Boise State is 14-5 against conference foes the past three years.

Boise State is 40-20 in their last sixty lined games.

Bosie State is 21-8 in home games in the last 10 years...17-6 as a home favorite.

Boise State is 11-1 after being the favorite in their last 3 games.

Boise State is 31-13 after the first month of the season in the last 10 years.

Boise State is 13-4 after playing three straight conference games the past 3 years.

Boise State can score and San Jose can not stop a high powered offense. I would not overlook the defense of Boise State either. They only give up an average of 12.3 ppg at home and San Jose only averages 12.3 ppg scored on the road.

So, it's a lot of points to lay, but this looks to have blowout written all over it.

honolulu, Hi, USA
Boise should win. BUT, do tread lightly. This year's edition is not the same as last year's team. SMU is the the pits and a far worse team than SJS. Tulsa should romp this week. Remember, Tulsa gave Boise a battle on their blue field. Think points too much and SJS could keep within range. Just don't bet the farm.

FWIW...

I follow a simple system that does fit in this game and it says to play against road underdogs of 21.5 to 31 points after the have won one or more straight games in the month of October. It's hit 72% in the past 10 years.
