He won't,did you see him after the game patting the Boise coach. I think I read his lip's saying"WoW you may get one of those NFL job's after that,Hell they are alway's looking for a few good men". "Now give me my cut"

What should he "not" say? Would he say, "Sorry to all those who bet Boise St. We could only manage a gimme score in the second half and couldn't keep Boise from scoring 28 points in the second half." Anybody that has ever played a BSU game knows that they run their offense regardless of the score or game situation. Would it have been better for them to kneel at the end? If they did that, BSU bettors would go nuts. At what point do teams stop trying to score? At what point should defenses stop playing hard? All of us have been beaten this way in the past. There is no hard and fast rule about reigning in the horses. Anybody that played against Boise had to know that they never lay down. It sucks - but it is not something that is shocking.

Even thought that last td won my second half over, I've still lost many more games on equally bs plays/endings. Vikings +4.5 losing in Overtime on the Mike Vick run comes to mind as a recent bad beat.

You pull back the reign's when your winning the other team is out of time-out's and all you have to do is kneel on the ball and the game is over. PERIOD, I'm really starting to question the sanity of some of these comment's.

Ferdville.....so true, so true. Kinda feel bad for the Iowa St bettors, but what you said is true and much the reason for those monster cover numbers at home.....That's just Boise, they never lay down.

Stop talking from a gambling perspective & give one damn good reason why a team should stop doing their job. Iowa St could have stopped them & didn't so blame them for not covering not Boise St.

Where in the rule books does it say that "you pull the reigns when you're winning and the other team is out of time outs and you just need to kneel.?" Is that the same rule book that says you can't steal a base when your team is leading by 6 runs? Or 7 runs? Or is it 8? Is that the same rule book that says you can't bunt for a base hit if a guy has a no-hitter going even if you are only down by one run? My point is that if you were familiar with the history of Boise State and the Boise State coach (as Hawkeye correctly noticed), this should not have been a big surprise. Did Hawkins demonstrate any class by going for another score? Of course, not. But that has been his style of play. Would I feel exactly like you if I had Iowa State? Absolutely. It is just another one of those things that happens when you gamble. I'd be just as upset or more upset that Iowa State played such a lifeless second half on both sides of the ball.

No way do you throw the ball in that situation. If you are so desperate to score you run the ball. Seems to me they wanted the rb to get his fourth td was only reason to try and score.

Oh BITE ME, When you have a game won,in the bag, over with, you kneel on the ball and take the win. You want ONE reason whY? 1- If you fumble or throw an interception and the other team takes it back for a TD,you may not win the game. Why on earthy would anyone take a chance on losing a game, when you rother option is winning by 11 or winning by 18. Is that reason enough for you . TO TAKE A CHANCE OF LOSING A GAME,WHEN IT's IN THE BAG TO WIN BY A LARGER MARGIN.? Quit insulting my intellegence.

Michael, in no way am I insulting your intelligence. You stated that it was stupid to pass, because it could have resulted in a loss. If they were up by 11 points with 34 seconds left and you get intercepted you might lose the game? Yeah, that makes sense. The BSU guy caught the pass at about the 5 yard line. I can see where Iowa State could intercept it and drive 95 yards for a score in 34 seconds; execute and recover an onsides kick; then score again. That is likely. I guess it is possible that the Iowa State guy could have intercepted the ball, ran it back 95 years for a score and then they would do the onside kick thing. I guess I need to reiterate my point once again - if you were familiar with the type of football that Boise State played for the past two years minimum, the actions shouldn't have been a surprise. That is it, plain and simple. If I was the head coach of this top 15 team, I probably wouldn't do the same, nor would many others. You don't average 47 points per game by running out the clock when you are comfortably ahead. Boise State won their games by an average margin of 33 points. These included wins of 67-21, 45-8, 58-3, 49-7, 44-7. They didn't do that by running out the clock. Why would they do it now?
