1 week doesn't kill books or bookies.

Bullshit. A huge week where every heavily bet favorite wins like this week can absolutely destroy a small local bookie. It may not kill the big boys, but it sure hurts them badly.

Upstairs watching sports on the big TV.
Seattle can pretty much name the score, will they is the question.

With these new rules hamstringing defense, shortage of capable QB's, serious dogs have NO bite these days, not many "Oh My God" upsets these days.

Its almost a 2 tier league, three tier with Jax and Tampa.

Agree totally.

Think the days of a 8-8 wildcard team winning the superbowl are running out. It is every year, becoming a league dominated by 8-10 teams, with the rest fighting for draft position......

I think it is great for playoffs, having all legit and at times dominant teams competing....but everyone likes the underdog....and regular season games comin down to final drive of a 13-13 game wher defenses are hammering people.... those days are done.

Old school says it best....bring 30 to the party, or go home

Where it is real F ing COLD
The biggest local book here hAs retired at age 50 from his normal job so it didn't hurt him but there are a few less knowns and Green Bay was a huge play, I know he was trying to dish off action to other bookies in town.

When green bay beat Pittsburgh in superbowl in 2010.
My book lost 145k. I am from wisky so you can imagine the damage done to him.
I took 2500 of it so I didn't feel bad. He is still kicking though, he maxed bets on g.b to 1000 per game per client.

Also pitt, cleve, and atlata were huge public plays

No, they weren't. Atlanta was large, but the other two were medium. None of them were huge. The huge plays were Denver, Green Bay and San Fran. I'll agree with you that most solid books probably laid off a lot of the action, but not every business is run well. Especially when you are talking about a business that operates in the shadows.
