local books did not get crushed. Ya Eagles and Patriots covered but those werent the only games yesterday. A lot of action on the over in last nights primetime game and it went under somehow. Books also won with all the busted chiefs teasers.

I would think going 1-4 ATS the last 5 the Packer faithful would be more inclined to just "Let It Be"

I ran an office for a guy for 5 yrs that had about 300 players (mostly $100-300/gm, maybe a 5-10 guys that bet 1-3k/gm.. and those guys were very selective shopping lines, etc) during fball season... and we NEVER had a losing week between Labor Day and the Super Bowl... not once... ever.

In fact out of 5 fball seasons, I believe there was only a handful of times when the take was less than 30k/week... almost every week was over 6 figures and if it was under 50 the "owner" would be pissed and grumbling.. around the office on Monday when he came to collect figures lol
And we NEVER had a losing week in the 5 yrs I was there... not EVER.

Bookies have offshore accounts too, or know other locals ... they can lay off whenever they feel like it.

Sure, some days were bad, but on Saturday and Sunday, a terrible day was still a pretty neutral day... And when u tallied everything up for the week... he'd be sending out to 10-20 guys and collecting from 100+ guys.

And, any good book is gonna keep track of how much action he has on a particular game (Eagles, etc)... so he knows before the game starts we're 7 dimes heavy on the Pats... 10 dimes on the Eagles.. whatever.

And they can choose (or not) to lay off some of that action.. or move the line up to some of the "taker-backers" that shop the lines between books, so as not to deal with a "bloodbath"...

If you've got 30 guys betting fball w/you, and they're ALL Eagles fans betting them every wk, you'd be dumb to let that 1 team decide your Sunday happiness or sadness lol.
Players usually also play Mon, Thurs, Sat, and other nfl games.. and over the course of the week, the house wins... blocked fg.. dropped td.. fumble that goes for td the other way... blown call... whatever.

that is my 1st hand experience...

I am passing along my experience from 2002-2007... the players were from Calif, Kansas, Montana primarily...
What reason would I have to fabricate this? I'm not sure what part is so hard to believe lol...
I think the reason most lose each wk is there are so many gms on and they want the action.. instead of just picking their 1 or 2 best plays.. but whatever the reason, these were the facts. And I'd guess its the same at most books that have a decent # of players giving them action.
I was surprised that on bad weeks, they'd still win 10-15k... when there are big moneyline upsets, its connected to straight plays, teasers and parlays.. leads to lots of $$ for the house.

It sounds exactly like the book I dealt with 30 years ago.

I was friends with a nightclub manager who took bets for the book. He had about 20 guys go through him. The book had several spots he covered, this was just one. My friend often quipped how he should just take the action, because the book never had to pay him! He always had an envelope for the book, though.

The guy never even counted the cash. Just tossed it on the seat next to him, and drove off.

Sounds familiar, majority of people on here wouldn't understand because they are amateurs smh every place is different and each house might be more greedy.

Nothing against what you say but 2002 -2007 was forever ago . The internet has so much info available and back in the day you probably didn?t have ?middlers? that aren?t even gambling . People used to pick up the paper look at lines and fire . These days they surf the net for days researching picks etc. it?s a different animal . As far as booking , last year was the first I lost in the NFL in almost a decade . This year isn?t nearly as bad but it?s been in the red . Yes there?s been a couple very good weeks . But at the end of the day it matters where u stand after 1st week of feb.

You seriously think most bettors scour the internet before making a play?

Highly doubt it.

Do you think most people who play Blackjack by a book to learn how to play the best way possible, or do you think they just walk up to a table and plop down their money and play?

Sure, plenty of guys "do their homework", for whatever that is worth. Still, the vast majority of guys are team A on a roll, so they bet on them. So on, and so forth.

Packer fan base would bet this team plus 7 at New England, just kidding but Pack fans are more delusional than most..My close Packer fans and those who know football aren't but 80 percent in the bar think they have the best players at every position.

With the ability to take a thread about how books did, and turn it into delusional Packer fans is Amazing! You certainly have a gift!!
