Boston Help???

Me and 11 of my friends are going to Boston on July 24th, It is for my bachlorette party, durning the Democratic convention, can anyone tell me what if any places that are going to be shut down? What places I should avoid?

Also, we are going for a day and night and all though I would love to spend the entire time drinking, LOL, some of them would like to do something else. Any recommandations? What is a must see/do?
