Comments on something I've noticed thru the NBA playoff years:

After game one of series, the winner is almost always deducted some penalty (i.e 1/2 pt./full number) going into the next game ... So whoever wins on down the line the #s often times go against them or stay the same, but rarely do they gain oddmakers' respect ...

MY dad (a terrible gambler, as Abe Lincoln said: I never met a man from which I didn't learn something, even if it was something not to do.) had pals who used this BOUNCE THEORY only in NBA playoffs for 20 years, they claimed they won + nearly every year ... I was younger and didnt follow it until app. a decade ago and it seemed to make sense, last couple years Im not so sure ...

All it is is betting against the team that last won ... Anyhow, my tangented point is that Ive seen some posters wonder why the lines have shifted to the defeated, I'm just saying that I have noticed this phenomenon for years ..

Jeesh, are thee unders ever going to end?

I will try OVER in Pacers/Nets ... Gotta think Kidd will be pushin' rock and Pacers will score enuff for both to break 90 ... this UNDER madness must end 7/1 ...

I've heard of variations of this, called the "zig-zag" theory. I've always interepreted it that the underdog has a limited number of bullets to fire. You pass Game 1 of the series and see what transpires. If the dog wins, or losses by a close margin you fade them in Game 2. Examples would be to fade Indiana last night, and Utah tonight. Indiana went into the tank last night, so they become a play on for game 3. Then what happens in Game 2 determines your strategy for game 3. The problem in the opening round is the long time between games means that both teams are likely to be fully recovered. Also, you have to take into account if a team if down 3-0, they may just lay down and quit so you can't blindly play the zig-zag.

well, the bounce is at 5-1 ATS after 6 games .. Minny tries but to match that firepower ain't easy ... and Im with Ainge defending KG... for Magic to sit there and say KG needs to step up in 4th like superstars do (i.e. Larry, him & MJ) well, lets not forget, KG doesnt have 2 or 3 other HOFs on his team, that he must CARRY his Wolves for 48 and in 4th he might wear down, exactly like my fave player TD did vs Sonix w/o his caddy Davey from Navy ... And tangenting further, if Robinson's back is a goner (which it mght be) I think Seattle has great chance to steal that series ...

anyhow, all that blathering unleashed ... Im still down with 76ers win SU ...
