In Novermber, I was reluctant to admit that the best team in the country was the Texas Longhorns. They had the most ways to beat you and the best quarterback who was ready to make his case after not making the BCS title game last year. This has been a mission in Austin ever since.
We also have an incredibly impressive performance by Bama in the SEC title game and Texas barely beating Nebraska. Two things. First, I would rather go with overall performance for the season when both teams have a five week layoff instead of who's playing better in the previous game. Second, the Gators played a mistake filled game which would have led to a loss in the SEC title game against LSU, possibly Georgia, Ole Miss, and perhaps even Arkansas. Bama looks like the obvious choice, but I think the wrong team is favored for one reason. Colt McCoy will be the best player on the field tonight.
