Leaving for Las Vegas on monday.I guess I missed the "party" by a few weeks.But I enjoyed those pictures of you all and all the stories.
Just an update.My daughter got married in Austin. The wedding was great. the "Salt Lick" barb-q reception was unreal.The dancing lessons that my kids payed for were well spent.Everyone was shocked when my wife and I went out there.No motown moves..all waltz,rhumba,etc.
Then with 2 weeks left in school,the day we gave out the yearbooks, caps and gowns to our seniors in an assembly...three seniors are killed that afternoon.Three beautiful girls..we lost another senior in Oct and then my favorite senior that graduated in august.Unreal. Not drinking and driving. Just inexperince.all wearing seat belts,etc.Over corrected,hydroplaned on wet road and one driving to fast.
Graduation nite was very tough. I gave the greatest speech I ever made.Told the old story about the 'friendship of colors".Had people crying in the beggining and then smiling and laughing in the end.Someday i'll post the story of colors.
Well with everything that we had to deal with my falculty convinced me to take a few days offs and go to vegas.My airfare is free and I'm staying with our former school nurse who retired to vegas 3 yrs ago .She won't even let me rent a car.
I'm going by myself since my wife took all her vacation days for the wedding.Another retired secretary is flying out the next day.
I bought tickets for the 3 of us to "Love" by Circuile de siole for wed nite. i read hear in MJ's that someone saw it and it was great.
I'm staying till saturday.I'm sure Annie has my days planned. we are going to Red rock one day.
I'm sure we'll go see Venice,Bellagio and a few of the others.
I hate doing this because it's been done here so much esp in vegas.Whats something I don't want to miss..I haven't been to vegas since 1975.
whats another show> I love magic.. Where are the best sports books. I would love to sit in front of 5 TV's and play some baseball games.
Any ideas will be helpful.If there are some of you out there i would love to have a drink with you.I'm staying in a town called Henderson.Ann says its right on the vegas border.let me know.What sports books are the best..what hotels..The ladies will play keno when I gamble.I;ll play black jack 75% of the time.maybe play a little poker..
Update on Herb Larkins.. talked to him yest.
Herb had an accident awhile back.He had a heat message on his leg.he fell asleep and it damaged his skin really bad.He hasn't been in his wheelchair in over 3 months.just this week he gets to get up for an hour.It's getting better but he can't sit up.
He said the TV is a godsend.He finally got it wall mounted.He got 2 envelopes this week with money.Unreal.What great people you all our.When I get back sometime in august I'm going down to Flushing with a camera and see him.Again thank you all for being guardian angels.we all go about with our lives and yet everyday you made someones life better.
