What do you guys think about this fight? In some ways it seems like Cotto-Gomez all over again.

The under seems like a great value to me, its around +250. Unless Oscar treats this like a lazy sparring session, I see no reason why he won't T.K.O. or even K.O. Forbes. That would certainly do a bit to hype the Mayweather fight; so why wouldn't Oscar want to stop Forbes, and what's to stop him from doing it?

Theres also alot of interesting props..like fight won't go past round 6, +800! (you can pick later rounds for good odds, too)

or, Forbes is knocked down or out +150

So what the hell am I missing, why do the odds-makers seem confident that this fight will go the distance?

"the bunker"
bro,i`ll throw my 2 cents in...i like steve forbes as a fighter...i`m tickled shitless that he`s getting the biggest payday of his career here, cause he`s a good guy...he`s what`s right about boxing.....he`s a good fighter...actually,he`s a very good fighter...

the problem is,he can`t punch...he`s,in reality, regardless of what they weighed in at,2 full weight classes smaller than oscar...

it would be the shock of the century if he stopped dlh...that`s actually,so far fetched,it`s almost a "sure thing";).. it ain`t happening...

and as if that weren`t enough, this is a golden boy production...if forbes couldn`t get the decision after clearly beating demetrius hopkins, his chances of beating oscar are slim and none....as a matter of fact,i think if he did k.o. oscar, they`d still figure a way to give it to oscar.....

now, will oscar stop forbes?...that seems about the only question worth debating......and to be honest,i think it`s up to oscar........

forbes is tough...but,imo,it all depends on oscar...how sharp will he be?...is he actually interested in stopping forbes?...

he fought bigger guys in the contender...but that wasn`t 12...and that wasn`t oscar...i understand it`s 12....if oscar works the body hard,i can see him wearing down forbes...

but forbes is such a decent, likable guy,i wonder how motivated oscar will be to put some serious hurt on him......

....

It would also be the best thing for boxing. I can't think of one reason i would pay for a Dela Hoya/ Mayweather fight. You give me the choice of paying for Cotto/Margarito and getting Dela Hoya/ Mayweather for free? I would pay for the Cotto fight and it isn't even close.

I'm kinda caught in two minds

1) Oscar puts on a strong performance knowing that this will help build the Mayweather fight. Forbes has tons of heart and the ref jumps in and saves him

2) Oscar knows he can pick up an easy paycheck by just coasting towards the decision win. He knows Forbes will battle to the end and to stop him he will need to work hard.

I like option 2 but the size difference does worry me. I also don't like the odds. I'll probably give this one a miss

Agree with your analysis ukgaz completely. Why bother when we really can't be sure of motivation.
