3 seconds left in the game and the guy does that? Off the top of my head I have never seen anything as bad as that in a NBA, NFL, or MLB game

you're right, I've never seen as bad as that in the NBA, NFL, etc...that's b/c it usually happens off the court at 3am...

but i would love to hear someone defend guns, assault, Latrell, limo drivers being shot, drug charges, etc...

at the end of the day, there are thugs in all sports...i don't think you can pin point one sport and not the other...

It makes perfect sense. The die hard hockey fan will watch the game no matter what channel it is on. The casual Olympic fan is going to put on NBC each night and just watch whatever is shown to them. Seems like the best way to maximize viewership to me.

Dick Ebersol was on the radio last week and said that Olympic viewership is over 70% women. If that's true, then it makes perfecrt sense that the skating is going to pull in a bigger number.

Last point, since I'm a big follower of the Summer Olympics I know this is true -- NBC will always feature the "medal round" of a smaller sport over the prelims of a more mainstream sport -- since their is more on the line.
