Is it just me or does anyone else think there is no way Brady lasts the entire season.

He hurt his shoulder last night from Harnesworth jumping on him. I ddint see the play but damn is he snake bit or what ?

NE has too much at stake to lose him and have to play OConnel .

Fragile bones do not bode well for Bradys chances to come back and play the whole season.

Falcons play tonight vs the Chargers and should be a good game to watch and see progress.

I have gone to 3 practises since the start of pre season. I took my binoculars and zoned in on some players.

Falcons look strong in alot of areas.
Offense should not be a problem and overs should be a good bet this year.
Falcons will be a improved team but may not win 11 games like last year.

Passng defense is going to hurt them bad. Last years run defense was slow to get going. They still
have young players on the line and secondary.

Love What TD and Smith have done. At least Arthur Blank has left them alone to run the Falcons.

I stopped playing pre season games and just use it to learn every tendency I can. Miami game should tell us alot about what kind of year the Falcons will have. I am not impressed by Pennington and their pre season has not been that good.

Vick is going to do the same thing to the Eagles that he did with the Falcons. He is a master at the string along.

Then when you really think you got somethng special a big game comes up, 3 and 7 for the winning first down to kick a field game,

BAM - Vick hits the scoreboard:sadwave:

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Philadelphia offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg doesn't expect the insertion of Michael Vick into the Eagles offense to disrupt its rhythm.

FOX Fantasy Football

Play FOX Fantasy Football for Free!"Not at all," Mornhinweg said. "We'll straighten that out. We'll take care of that. Michael is going to help this offense. I'm confident of that."

Vick played in just six plays Thursday night in the preseason game against Jacksonville. Quarterback Donovan McNabb told Mornhinweg and coach Andy Reid that Vick coming in and out interfered with he flow of the game. :SIB :scared

"It's not going to be a disruption," Mornhinweg said. "Believe me, it won't be. It's not an issue."

Vick will play Thursday night when the Eagles travel to compete against the Jets in the final preseason game. McNabb is not expected to play in the game.
..................................................................

This is the same feeling I got seeing Vick shuttled in and out. No starting NFL QB ( mcnabb ) wants to see his role diminished like when Vick came in,

This is going to be a major problem with team chemistry, McNabb sulking, and egos getting torn up left and right.

The only thing that will resolve it is when McNabb goes down in the middle of the season and Vick comes in to save the day.

Ouch . Playoffs , Playoffs

The Falcons won the game which is astounding in iteself.

From what I saw San Diego is going to be a team to be noticed. The 5 ft 6" running back Spruel is really something to see. Fast and hits the hole with authority.

Two QBs on the Chargers that can lead the team to TDs . Timlinson should have a very good year.

Great offensive line and acceptable defense.

Now for the Falcons

nice offense dudes.

NE has too much at stake to lose him and have to play OConnel .

Patriots Release O'Connell
The New England Patriots have released second-year quarterback Kevin O'Connell, according to several reports.

The move comes as a surprise, given that O'Connell was a third-round draft pick last year and appeared to be the leading candidate to be the Patriots' No. 2 quarterback behind Tom Brady.

But he had a shaky performance in Friday's preseason game against the Washington Redskins at FedEx Field, throwing two interceptions.

The move leaves the Patriots with the recently signed Andrew Walter and undrafted rookie Brian Hoyer on the roster at quarterback behind Brady, who hurt his right shoulder during the Redskins game. The Patriots might trade for a veteran backup.

The Patriots traded Matt Cassel, who led the club to an 11-5 record last season while filling in for the injured Brady, to the Kansas City Chiefs in the offseason.

you may be right scott because the giants exposed the o-line as a weakness in the superbowl.....& bellichek hasn't done anything to strengthen the line...

there is also a rumor that the pats may get aj feeley from the eagles as a back-up qb...

good luck this year...

Brady is tough but that hit was not your usual hit. He was driven into the ground. The Patriots probably want to downplay it but the hit was borderline legal in my opinion.

That said the Pats are in trouble. No need to play Brady every play during the season. They need a backup who can step in and play.

i think you guys are overreacting..pats in trouble? They are 4-1 faves to win the super bowl.
The line needs to step up this year but I think the pats brought in a good blocking tight end in chris baker. I think that is why they brought him, and why he may ultimately start over watson.

If that were a regular game, brady would not have missed a series. Before bradys injury he never missed a start, and I don't think he will fall apart due to offensive line problems this year.

Brady, or any other QB, won't last the season if DL can get away with 'driving' someone's shoulder into the ground. It's as dirty as a crackback or a clothesline and the league needs to do something about it. I know it's hard to see for the officials, but slow motion clearly reveals the intent. If the league doesn't do anything about it, then the players/coaches may have to deal with it in their own way... ...hopefully it won't come to that.

Stevie D...didn't see your post when I replied to this...glad someone else thinks the same.

so your saying that Haynesworth drove into Brady like that on purpose ?

Again , I didnt see the play, but its hard to believe a Pro bowl player would stoop that low in pre season

You got me confused on this one.First off the hit was legal no question.Althou Brady was driven into the ground it wasnt with intent, but he was shaken up.

2nd he will start against Buffalo, theres no doubt about that.He will not play Thursday. As far as a back up QB?He will only play if Brady is hurt.

Theres gonna be no time share here.A back-up could play in a mop up role also.Anything else makes no sense.

rusty, I don't see anything confusing about it. The hit was borderline legal. The guy wrapped Brady up, picked him up, took two steps and drove his shoulder into the ground. The intent was to knock him out.

The Patriots are in trouble because they need a proven back up. Two years ago when they were up 38 to zip at the half Brady played into the fourth quarter. Sometimes finishing the game. They need a proven back up QB is all i am saying. And there is no need to play Brady every down of every game.
Other than that I think Belicick does a pretty good job and doesn't need my help.

Tom Brady set to go
Sore shoulder won?t keep QB out of opener
By Ian R. Rapoport / Patriots Notebook

FOXBORO - In the wake of a shoulder injury sustained in the last preseason game, Patriots [team stats] quarterback Tom Brady [stats] said he ?expects? to play in the opener on Sept. 14 against the Bills.

Speaking during his weekly interview on WEEI Radio, Brady said he has bumps and bruises like anyone else, believes he?ll start the season on the field, and never once thought his status was seriously in danger.

Against the Washington Redskins, defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth drilled the quarterback, forcing him to land hard on his throwing shoulder. Brady missed the second half with what was officially called a ?sore shoulder.?

Brady was at practice yesterday, taking part in drills. It was not clear if he attempted any passes.

?As for my shoulder, I just fell awkwardly,? Brady said. ?Anytime a 350-pound man lands on you, most people would be a bit sore, which I was. (I thought), ?Damn, that guy was heavy.? ?

Brady is believed to be slated to sit out the fourth and final preseason game, giving him more than two weeks to rest his shoulder. He wouldn?t say whether he had an X-ray or MRI, but he did say the whole experience gives him confidence.

?I know when a 350-pound man falls on me,? Brady said, ?I can handle it.?

Scotty ,Id wish Ryan a quick exit to the season ,but for 2 reasons I wont.

1)He played at BC
2) I drafted him in fantasy FB,LOL!!

I did see most of first have ,but I missed the hit on Brady.I did see the replay, and were on oppisite sides on this on.I did not see the hit that way.

How is there no need to play Brady every down ??/
Im sure he will rest him if game conditions warrant, but with there schedule this year its unlikely.

Lets hope for a good season.

On playing Brady every down. In the undefeated season, the Pats would be up by 40 points and Brady was still playing. That is all I am saying. There is no need to expose him to injury. :toast:
