Tom Brady was absent from the New England Patriots' locker room for the second straight day on Friday, and once again Patriots coach Bill Belichick did not discuss the status of his star quarterback.
Brady was not in the locker room during the 45-minute media-access portion of Friday's practice - the latest development in the ongoing saga involving the league MVP's injured right ankle.
For the second consecutive day, Belichick refused to comment on whether Brady would practice.
"Not now," Belichick said. "We'll see."
Brady missed practice on Thursday, when the Patriots held their first workout since beating the San Diego Chargers in last Sunday's AFC championship game.
The normally stone-faced Belichick seemed out of character during Thursday's news conference, joking with reporters that the team was "excited" to release its injury report next Wednesday.
Belichick poked fun at reporters once again on Friday, questioning whether they were on a Brady "deadline".
"(I'll) let you know after practice," he said. "Or does everybody have a deadline before then?"
Nursing a high ankle sprain, Brady was photographed on Monday wearing a walking boot outside his supermodel girlfriend's apartment in New York City.
Brady has said the injury he suffered in the AFC championship game would not keep him out of Super Bowl XLII against the New York Giants on February 3.

You got to agree that a QB that is going to be in the Superbowl does not miss the first day of practise. Unless they are injured that is.
So the question is. How does that affect my thinking on this wager.
On what team will win the Super Bowl.
It seems simple enough.
I smell money and it smells green.
