i hear ND wants the orange, and so do I. In theory, its up to the selection committees, but my guess is there are some "influentual" ND backers that can get ND in either game. Whether OSU goes or not hinges on that; If ND plays in the orange bowl, I think Oregon has a better shot.

Who cares about bad seasons by MSU, TENN, PITT, WASH, PURDUE, whoever. The bottom line is that we play GREAT games that people LOVE to watch.

Okay caught up in the moment of the game with the over rated comment...we'll have to see who is over rated and who's not...now resulting to name calling a little elementary but probably would have done the same if I was in your shoes...Yeah your right ND is in and I am going to have to deal with it...like I said before give the Irish credit for the come back...but I know you have to be concerned about that defense...Could you imagine the hype for OSU vs ND...I don't think I can pass up going to that game...Guess we just play the waiting game now
i have no disrespect for nd. they beat the $hit out of ut and i enjoyed that. nd is a very good team and they have a very good coach, yet the arrogance is unfounded. yes, you are a very good team this year,but to be a bit intolerant is unjust. nd has been down for quite some time - weiss has restored greatness to this program, and well deserved. however, there is no reason to act as if "we all knew all along" nd would be this good. it is nice to get at the "haters", but not everyone is a hater. some are just pissed that they bet on a very good team, but the very good team did not quite show up.

When was the last time everyone was up till 1 oclock watching AUBURN beat McNeese State?? NEVER. People watch USC and ND because they win and entertain an audience while doing it. Get a career.
USC has been the most dominant program in CFB the last few years combined. (duh) I think 99% of CFB fans would agree. With that said.........
This year USC had close games @Oregon (half), @Arizona St., @ND, and Fresno St.
Last year USC had close games @V-Tech, @BYU (half), @Stanford, CAL, @Oregon St., and @UCLA.
In 2003, USC had close games againt BYU, lost close game @CAL in triple OT, and @Arizona St.
In 2002 USC had close games against AU, lost @Kansas St. by 7pts, lost @Washington St. by 3pts in OT, and CAL.
I think ND is heading in the right direction and will have similar success as USC. The problem ND will face is they play USC every year and USC will also have to battle it out with ND. The rivalry once again will cost each school National Championships. Just like it used too. If you call ND over-rated, then based on the same criteria I just posted, USC teams during this dynasty have been over-rated as well.
We all know that is not true. ND is not over-rated. They get everyones best shot just like USC. That makes it very difficult to win convincingly week in week out AND both programs play tough schedules every year!
BTW, why not give Stanford respect for competing with ND.

Good point. Give stanford some credit for playing a hell of a game against #5 in the country. Lesser team vs. better team in a close game is NO reason to ASSUME that the better team is overrated.
Scott I have been waiting for your post...Agreed...I think we should write letter to the Bowl committee...I would love to see USC vs ND, OSU vs Texas, or OSU vs Penn St again...uh cough...since we lost both those games...Bottom line for our teams to get where they are is well deserved...Lets just hope the Bowl committee doesn't screw everything up with throwing Oregon in a BCS
