Braves are in some trouble but let me tell you after 133 pitches it will show his next time out. the giants are in less trouble then the braves.

In college a pitcher can throw 118-120 and prior did but when you get to pro ball you are held back on pitch count and your body is not use to it like it was then 133 pitches is a ton more then you throw a college pitcher 120 was my tops for guys. not only does it effect the next start but the start after that even more. hve seen it in coaching all the time and it will make a difference i don't care how great of shape you are in. Well the bp is sure fresh. I think the cubs do it braves seem to be baffled.

I agree, bud, it has been great to see fla and cubs so far, but most likely giants win w/schmidt tomorrow and go home and win gm5, but electric atmosphere that was today...whats your take on the al series? bos is in trouble but should win tomo and maybe sunday too, itll be tough for oak at fenway, and yanks series should be good as well, Im hoppin on the cubs wagon though, my mets are on the golf course, so i gotta root for the nfl, and I dont like the braves much, either cubs or fish, but fish will have trouble beating schmidt tomorrow, but sf lineup besides barry, doesnt scare me, except alfonzo, he leaves the mets and gets his swing back

fletch---the cold might make him more sore, but he has been pitching 120-130 pitches all September. I got to respectively disagree, During september he has bounced back each game after throwing high pitch counts. His stuff was still electric. But only time will tell. But one thing for sure is i will be on him, i'm riding that horse to the Series. If your in here, what do u think about Utah 2nd half, any feelings??

You would think it would affect him, but he's been pitching 124+ almost every game down the stretch and he's still been very strong every start after (save for the Montreal game). With him pitching that well in a must-win game, as I don't think Chicago wins the series if they lost this game, I would have let him close it out as well.

He'll be fine. He is use to pitching this many pitches now down the stretch.

Basically, he knows this is the only game he is gonna pitch this series, and if the Marlins do win tomarrow and the cubs win too, he won't pitch again, till game 3. I think it was a wise move. he will still have the 3-4 days rest. Not only that, it will be a 7 game series next and that plays a different part with everything.

I'm telling you though, this Prior is something special though.

by the way Fletcher..........Vegas in 4 months baby!!!!!!!

It will take its toll!

It will take its toll!

The ninth inning he didn't have command of his pitches. Dusty is managing for today. Matt Clement hasn't pitched well lately and the same thing with Zambrano. All their pitchers are throwing to many pitches. It will catch up with them soon.

Also every one be careful with betting Scmidt for the Giants on short rest.

scmidt never did to good in the few times he pitched in pitt on short rest or on a extra day, he is the kind of pitcher that likes his routain and does not like to have it broken, lot of pitchers are like that they are just a off the wall group of guys:shrug: and most of it is all in their head with things not on the time table they are use to.

as much as i would like to see someone different win it i think the yanks take it all. wonder if rsox have gave up hope, the pressure on them has to be intense. a's can play loose and just shoot for 1 out of 3 would be a big help to end it early can the get the sweep? poor rsox maybe there really is a curse there or it could be because beantown lives there and (spelling will be way off but what's new:shrug: ) nostradomes knew this long in advance:D
