Well if does happen again this time I hope all the fans finally say enough is enough. Baseball has turned into a coorporate game. The true fans of the game can only afford to take their family to maybe 1 or 2 games a year. So choke on those millions like Linda Lovelace did in deep throat. You can all kiss my middle class white ass!!!!Way to go you baseball pricks. ruin a good thing. There's no Sosa, Mcgwire to save your asses this time. And by the way Bud Selig you kiss my ass also, you worthless piece of commision shit!

I agree. Baseball, world's pastime, has turned into Baseball, money. Its not baseball how it used to be. You have all of these babies asking for more money, when most of the play like sh*t and dont deserve anything.:moon:

They should tear the whole thing down and start again. This is the only strike where I want both sides to lose. The players for being too greedy and the owners for being too stupid for paying out all that money.

i agree with gecko bring back the game like it was when pee wee
reese and dizzy dean would anounce the game drinking falstaff
beer and be about half looped by the 7th inning stretch.
:toast: :toast:

now to me that was baseball at its finest.

K-LINE, what team(s) did Pee Wee and Dizzy broadcast for? Probably the closest we've come to that since then has been Harry Carey and Steve Stone. Those guys were hilarious!

Ahhh.....I still have fond memories of the typical Saturday. Got up to watch cartoons and Schoolhouse Rock, then out to play soccer, then back home to watch the Baseball Bunch and This Week in Baseball, followed by the game on NBC with Vin Scully and Joe Garagiola! SIMPLY AWESOME.....:D

A Rod will lose $3,357,337.05 of his salary if they strike on August 30. The poor guy! That is the crust of the problem right there. These salaries are so far out of line and the owners are too stupid to stop paying it.
I heard an interview with Sandy Koufax once. They were asking him about pitching a World Series game with his bad arm and only a couple of days rest. He said he felt he owed it to his teammates to pitch. The difference between the winners share and the losers share meant that a lot of the guys wouldn't have to work a second job in the off season.
Pitchers today turn into pumpkins if they throw over 100 pitches in a game. Steroid freaks are taking all the validity out of home run records.
And...And to show there stupidity they chose to strike just as the NFL opens! Like anyone is going to miss these jerks.

It only shows how out of touch the players union must be. Even though the owners must share in the blame, very few people are going to feel sorry for the players. We would all like to be standing in their shoes. The ultimate stupidity is coinciding their strike with opening of football season. That basically shows me how blind the union is to the public's perception of their plight. Of course, there are some poor souls, like me, wondering if this could finally be the year that the Angels get to the World Series only to find out there IS NO World Series! But I'll get over it once that first Saturday of college football from early morning to late night hits the airwaves.

I'm sure I'm in the minority on this but I have a feeling they will settle at the last minute. Too many remember 1994, and too many people have too much to lose.

????

????

Has anyone had a chance to research past pending strikes, over/under trends, higher fav prices ect.

I would tend to think playoff contending teams would still be playing at a higher level leading to a higher % of wins as where teams that are out of it might be polishing their golf clubs.

Would also think overs might come in at a higher rate (ego average players patting stats).

Would be interesting to see a breakdown from the past.

Good luck all:cool:

I guess I have a different perspective of this ordeal.......the
players union just threw a 5000 pound turd into the laps of
the owners and said, " HERE, YOU DEAL WITH IT "..............
" FOOTBALL SEASON COMING UP.......REVENUE??????"...
