Have spent most of day reading articles on this. If anyone gets any foreign news links on implementation of operation please post it in this thread.

IMO I think those who think Pakistan protected him are off base solely on premise UBL would not trust them--especially in light of reward.
Also would wager we had team there before main assualt--though have not seen anything on it. Reason most safe houses have safe room or exit especially would expect so on house built in 05 for that purpose. Would think they would fear escape with noise of choppers/assault. I expect Bin Laden died before choppers landed.

You thinking suicde or his team did it? Or maybe a CIA Assassin like Mitch Rapp? I would believe CIA had people involved in both copter assault and pregame festivities.

Think team did him in for sure Clem. I just hope he had few minutes to reflect on what was about to happen to him.

I sure like O's choice of team going in vs drone/bomb.

There will be some that will say it was unnessary risk of troops life--but I adamantly disagree. Troops would have fought each other for this opportunity and thephysiological impact of how we did it is immense--and then there's the no question on identification.

All in all it was perfect ending to long chase.:toast:

--and I don't understand yours --you were down in poltical forum during Bush tears with daily body counts--and despite there being more troop deaths in afgan in last 2 years than 7 years preceding combined--we haven't heard a peep from you.
