Gonna post a couple of spot plays that I will play across the board at hopefully favourable odds, as well as a match-up that caught my eye......
JUVENILE
#5 - C P WEST --> I wish it was anyone but Bejarano on this one. However, that said, I am taking a shot on this colt at 15/1 ML. It looks like this one may have some nice tactical speed, and I like the way he fought down the stretch in his last and also think he will enjoy the extra 3/16 of a mile. May have also tipped his hand in that last work on 10/29 at Churchill going a near bullet in 1:00 1/5. Circular Quay will be the one to beat, but I like the freshness and anticipated continued improvement in Zito's entry here.
MILE
#1 AD VALOREM --> At 20/1 ML, this is my long shot on the card. I see this as a wide open race, and I liked Ad Valorem's determined effort against a very good bunch in last at Woodbine. Also like the fact that start was on North American soil.
CLASSIC
Like the prop in this one:
# 13 SUN KING over #8 LAVA MAN (+101) --> Lava Man has done everything asked of him, but I don't like the way this pace scenario sets up for him, and it looks like his Beyers are flattening out shy of 110. I'm looking for Sun King to pick up some pieces late in this one and go by a tiring Lava Man. In fact, if they get a little goofy with the fractions up front, Sun King could cause some real noise.
