Any game he has done on ESPN this season is 18 overs and 2 unders.

He's fun to listen to towards the end of the game when he hints at the gambling public play(s).

He's doing the Big12 tourney on ESPN2.

Lee Corso also likes to hint around....and seems like Brent always takes Chalk lol

I liked Musberger when I was really young and NFL was still on CBS. After several years I mainly just got tired of him. But the last several years, I've really liked him again but in a different way.

I don't know why I say it like this, but guys like that I call a "caricature of themselves" and I mean it in a very good way. I love how the older Brent will talk about point spreads and will go crazy over a hot girl in the crowd.

I think its a combination of how their attitude changes and that you also come to appreciate just how good they have been for so long. Announcers can really make or break a game and there are so many that I absolutely love and there are some that are just terrible.

I remember when Jimmy the Greek was on CBS pre-game predictions and Brent was the one asking him who he liked and so forth.

Those were the days. Now all of ESPN's Sunday football talk guys make their picks as well, but not against the spread, they need a show that has a featured handicapper. ESPN has Phil Steele on College Football live talk on ESPNU and every once in a while, Danny Sheridan, but that's about it.

Andrew Lange, don't confuse him with Brandon Lang, works w/ESPN and has capped College basketball for a long time and puts out maybe 3-4 picks in a total week, sometimes only 3-4 in a month has been hitting at 57% consistently and moves the Vegas line and often his plays were also the same plays put at several other handicappers web sites or sold picks.

You won't see a handicapper on the MLB.network, but I found it intriguing MLB had Pete Rose give who he thought would win games during the Post-Season and World Series. Makes ya wanna go hmmm!!

I've often wondered why they can't have some sort of network, or even maybe just try a game on ESPN Classic or something.....and have it be tailored to gamblers (and entertaining for others too)

Have a pre-game where you discuss lines and strategy for betting. Then during the game, the announcers can give play-by-play but also discuss what we really need. "Up by 5 but we really need a stop and one last foul to have a chance at covering 6 1/2"

Could even incorporate bad language into it (prob none of this would fly on ESPN lol)...."mother fucker I've got my rent on this, dude can't throw it in the ocean....son of a bitch" just like a couple guys sitting at home watching the game with money on it....Brent and Corso....maybe throw Bill Walton in there with those 2 guys...or Bill Raftery lol

ESPN had that with Cowherd, Chad Millman and Tom Waddle, but it got pulled when Colin got axed!

Sunday mornings.

FOX probably will get that going again.

I hardly pay attention to ESPN gameday anymore the last few years but they have some fatass behind a computer that travels with the crew and picks a couple games ATS. this happens ON EVERY SHOW.

Its on mute in the background for me, but Ive seen it for a few years.

Handicapping the announcers is a new thing tho, even for me.

Kansas City area for who knows how long....
I remember fondly one early Sunday morning long ago, going thru some airport and strolling by a TV, I caught Berman on ESPN:

"This unexpected cold and snow in Soldier Field is something you, uhhh, investors, might want to take note of."

I called 5 Dimes to put a bet in on the under, final score was something like 11-9..... :0074

Driving around Las Vegas, listening to the car radio, you can catch sports betting-oriented sports talk shows. Sometimes I will listen online to "First Preview" and "The LV Sportsline" on ESPN 1100 Las Vegas radio...or "Sportsbook Radio" on 920 The Game...

Not a Bears fan but love Tom Waddle....one tough son of a bitch that catches everything. I loved Steve Largent when I was playing WR in high school and loved Tom Waddle while I was playing club football in college. Everything you'd ever want in a football player for both of those guys.

Great thread guys!!

Thanks BGFalcon.

I miss those days of playing football....pickup games and streetball in the neighborhood....junior high, high school....club football in college....not to mention a ton of more pickup games in college, flag football in college and for several years after.

I remember going to watch Bowling Green @ UNC....I looked it up....1982....I guess I would have been 9 years old. I remember taking a bunch of pictures with a camera I had gotten for my birthday that year and also wondering why didn't their team colors include "green" haha. Glorious Kenan Stadium :)
