no doubt Mully,, I am a diehard Bear fan,, actually hate Favre, but I respect him.. I will like him after he retires..
Ditto fellas, one of the few players left in the NFL that truly enjoy playing the game! I hate seeing some of these guys with God given talent, that are so fricken miserable out there!

Looks like a fake injury to me that they pounded in our heads so the public took Seattle. I seen Brett fall and use the same arm to pick himself up. If it was hurt so bad why don't he use the other arm to push himself up?? I always said he was the best quarterback i ever saw play until the gambling gods got a hold of him after his superbowl win. then he forgot how to play every time their was huge Amounts of money bet on him. Before that he covered 90 percent of his games. the best one is when they say he can't throw in a dome LMAO. But before his superbowl years he won in them all the time. Just my opinion of course.
tough guy no doubt..dont blame him for still playing either,lots of guys like him want to keep playing but the packers are idiots for not grooming someone else,time to say goodbye,this guy will never win a big game again with his decision making.if the 49ers could say goodbye to montana ,tennese mcnair ,countless other examples..when its time to rebuild you statr with a qb,dont let him hang on while your rebuilding,you need to rebuild around your future qb..theyve set themselves back years b/c of this..if i was a packer fan id be pissed hes still around..im a 49ers fan so i know what its like ,joe had to go,and he was better than favre is when they let him go but by signing young and playing him they would not need a qb for 5 or more years ,montana woulkd give them a couple more,so they made the right choice...you say the pack dont have someone like young to take his place?they couldve picked up a young good qb the last couple of seasons and have their future qb by now.i just dont get it.

They did pick up a young QB last year with their first pick in the draft (24th overall)..
Aaron Rodgers - who, up to 2 weeks before the draft, was considered to be the #1 choice in the draft.... but dropped in the last 2 weeks all the way down to 24 (Alex Smith went #1 - and he hasn't been all that good so far)...
So they did try - until last year, they have always had good records, and poor draft choices....
So they tried...that being said, they could be in a position to take Brady Quinn this year - which is very possible...

alex smith has made HUGE improvments since last year..as a 49ers fan i thought he was going to be a huge bust but,what a diffrence a season can make for a young qb,a few seasons the pack have already wasted..rogers has been their 2 seasons now,so if hes the future they couldve got the growing pains out the door by now and know if hes the one or not..so theyve wasted the last 2 seasons on favre for what??a couple of extra wins..if they got rid of him 2 seasons ago they would now what rogers is about by now or if theyve got to go in a diffrent direction,but favre wants to keep playing ,does he really care about the pack?i think hes selfish and the pack front office are idiots...drew brees wouldve been a nice pickup also dont u think?your qb sitution wouldve been solved for the next 5 years
Rivers sat for two years and i think it was the best thing for him. letting a young guy sit a year or two can only help if he is willing to learn. You have to be a absolute stud to start right after you are drafted with a team. Aikman comes to mind but he also had a great talent evaluator of a coach who was also a great coach. You get a guy like Tim Couch get drafted by a bad team with bad coaches you never succeed. Same with Achilles Smith. Bad team with a terrible coach=failure
True - Alex Smith has been better this year - but he had no where to go but up, as he was terrible last year.
I actually watch the 49'ers quite a lot... and cannot understand their play calling at all... What is Nolan doing? He has the best running back in the league (next to LT) - Frank Gore - who I believe has the best yards per carry average... yet, game in, game out, it seems Nolan is enamored with the pass.. which hurts them as Smith isn't ready to carry a team. With Gore in there, they should be running much more than they do... he'll get 150 yards on 20 carries.. what would happen if they gave it to him 30 times a game?
I disagree - the Packers haven't wasted 2 years - it is only 1.5 years now. Obviously, they weren't going to start Rodgers last year in his rookie year.
There was hope that he'd play some this year - but then he got hurt. I think the Packers plan was sound. They just didn't expect him to get hurt.
And there is NO WAY that they would ever push Brett out of GB... he's done way too much for the franchise, rescuing it from the dead in the early 90's. He'll end up holding all the major passing records before he's done (although Peyton may catch him on many of them). His consecutive start streak will never be broken. With all he has done for GB, in my mind he has the right to stay and play for as long as he wants to. And most Packer fans agree.
Have to disagree with Moe on this one. A lot of these young qb's need to sit behind a vet qb for a little while and learn and pick up the game at the nfl level. Alex Smith has made improvements from last year but he hasn't improved that much he still needs more development. Look at some of these other guys who had vets ahead of them. You point out the young montana situation which is right on. Rodgers is only going to be more prepared sitting behind favre and learning, and then starting next year. Cutler is being brought in WAY too soon, expect an ugly game next week. They may win but expect it to be ugly, kid hasn't learned enough at the nfl level. Rivers is that much better because he learned from Brees. Oh and don't forget Bledsoe/Teseverde -Romo.You can really see it in all of the vet-rookie situations where they have had TIME.

Mags you think they dont give it to him more because of his fumbles? I always liked what i call East coast football. Smash mouth runs and then pass it all over the field. some of these West Coast offensives are unbearable to watch. If that is what Gruden is running in Tbay ecck. In Philly we have been begging for years for a big running back but this prick is stubborn and he may have about two years left because his poor draft and his stubburness is about to destroy him. I like to see gibbs give it another year. I always liked his brand of football. Parcells to.

That could be it - he has 5 fumbles lost, while Chester Taylor and Kevin Jones have 4... those 3 guys lead the league...
But Gore is SO dominant out there when he is running the football. I cringe when I see SF on 1st and 10 pass the ball - because that usually means either 2nd or 10, or bring the defense on the field due to an interception.
It's almost like they are forcing the issue with Alex Smith - trying to help his numbers to show that he isn't a bust at #1....
What they should be doing is using their best asset more often. I haven't seen a guy run the ball with the power, speed, and change of direction since...... Ladanian.....
