I don't like Shanahan, but jeez. He didn't even have a losing record this year. Lost about 10 running backs. I understand not a good year, but how do you fire a guy who won 2 Super Bowls...
A great record and 2 losing seasons in 14 years...give me a break.

Think maybe they told him he would just be the coach next year and not president also in charge of personnel etc and he told them to shove it.--Mike has to have all the power
they had to get rid of him.....he became stale & hasn't done anything without elway....he can get a job immediately if he wants one....
More importantly who's gonna take his place???:scared
Can't say I hate to see him go, but I certainly didn't mind him there. His lack of a defense cost him and the next guy an exceptional young offense with no shot at the Super Bowl. The defense has too many problems to solve in just one year and maybe two and by then Champ will be on the downside and they have nobody to build the defense around...If they got Haynesworth or Roy Williams they could build upon that but not sure that would happen. I know they have good cap space so it should be interesting..
