Was no shocker, what is a surprise is that they did not already have a replacement lined up. Gonna be another shit show of chasing HC candidates

The Browns need to build some continuity and it starts in the upper management decision making, whether it's the Draft or hiring a HC. Dorsey isn't a bad exec he did well in KC albeit, he worked with Andy Reid as well, there is some talent on this club but they need continuity and some discipline on and off the field.

Once they get their "camp" in order, they will be a solid team in the AFC North, but right now, too much meddling from ownership and not enough due diligence in acquisition making of a HC who'll make a difference. Freddie never coached and the way he talked shows it, same shit show in Detroit. There are a lot of decent coaches out there and I wouldn't be surprised if the name, Urban Meyer comes up at some point and time since he's an Ohioan! For me he'd be a great fit and pick, Jimmy Hard Hat Harbaugh is a silent name right now, don't forget about him. Buffalo seemed to have righted their ship with McDermott, a former deciple under Andy Reid at one time and he coached at Carolina as well.

I'm a fan of the game and I would love nothing more than to see Cleveland end up in a Super Bowl and win one before I expire on this earth!

BOL!!

so who tells the whole locker room to SHUTUP !!!!!!!!

That's a tuffy OS!! I've found that coaches who lead by example and control the first outburst day 1 end up being the coaches that are successful.

Andy Reid has changed a lot in his years in the NFL and you can see it in his locker room speeches after the games as compared when he was in Philly.

Mike Tomlin is like that however he had many 1 on 1's with AB and AB ended up going out the door. Not many Steelers have jumped ship the past few years.

It's a new era with a lot of entitlement and chest pumping of high profile athletes, but the coaches who put those players in their place day 1 and have one on one's instead of calling players out, end up being the best fits.

Dorsey gone, clears the deck for McDaniels to come in with his own crew:shrug:

For Dorsey to leave though "mutual parting of the ways?", tells what's going on. Previous wonder boys before Dorsey took over didn't last long and Dorsey gets one year in and leaves?

Woah Nellie!

Dorsey said in the team statement: "When I took this job, the history of this storied franchise and the passion of our fans was an integral part of my decision. It is that same understanding and desire to see these fans enjoy the success they are so deserving of that helped me conclude, along with Jimmy and Dee [Haslam], that it was best to part ways as they embark on the search for a new head coach. I know how critical the relationship is between a general manager and head coach and I also know how critical it is that the Browns have a strong leader in their next coach."

True dat!!

Whomever the Browns bring in at GM and HC needs to have a track record to back it up, not a newbie with no backbone, someone who can communicate and someone who can identify talent and own it!

Romeo Crenell? Fail!! Hue Jackson, 2nd Fail! Rob Chudzinski? HUH? Why Rob? Cuz he coached for a Super Bowl contender at Carolina? Nice!! Terry Robiskie was a fill in. Bud Carson? He was a great coordinator but not a head coach. Mike Pettine last as long as the massage girl with Robert Kraft! Pat Shurmur? Eric Mangini? Hell, the last coach who took them to the post-season was Butch Davis! And he's coaching at FIU!! LOL Perhaps Butch is on Jer's list? LOL

You can't just hire some hot coordinator name of a playoff/Super Bowl contender. They don't work out unless the talent is there, albeit Green Bay! Shanahan has done ok at SF with a talented draft base they used.

Maybe Nick Saban will go back to Ohio? He was in Toledo once LOL! Hell let him be GM and HC!!

The Browns are set to meet with Josh McDaniels today.

The Browns are set to meet with Josh McDaniels today. The Patriots offensive coordinator also brought his wife Laura along with him, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com (on Twitter), which could be an indication that McDaniels is poised to land the head coaching job.

The Browns don?t necessarily have to rush to make a hire, but they?ve reportedly aiming to make a hire by Saturday. McDaniels is the last of three candidates to interview this week, and it?s believed that the hire will ultimately come from that trio of the Pats OC, Vikings OC Kevin Stefanski, and Eagles DC Jim Schwartz.

The search is being spearheaded by Browns chief strategy officer Paul DePodesta, who has a good relationship with Schwartz. However, the final decision will be made by owner Jimmy Haslam, and McDaniels is a northeast Ohio native with an impressive resume.

McDaniels, 43, has interviewed with the Browns twice before. He met with the Browns during previous owner Randy Lerner?s tenure in 2009, before the team hired Eric Mangini. McDaniels withdrew his name from consideration after interviewing in 2014, when current owner Jimmy Haslam was in charge. Before he bowed out in ?14, he was believed to be the favorite.
