Sheez Scott--your getting a bit defensive bout your base. :)

While reality is starting to sink in let me give you another certainty to dwell on--

Laws of Nature

As social programs increase so will those that seek them and they will come with their hands out.

The productive will gravitate to confines that reward success.

When the non tax payer becomes majority and dictates law of the land--you have reached the point of no return--and each must live with the consequences of their convictions.

Here's what makes me "laugh my ass off" Scotty...

DTGumby's typical neoconservative take on budget expenditures... ALL social programs are BAD but spending more that $1 trillion per year expanding the American military empire is GOOD. Making sure that all Americans have health insurance is BAD but spending untold billions every year on 737 U.S. military bases on foreign soil is GOOD. Tax cuts for the wealthy are GOOD but tax cuts for the middle-class is "redistributing the wealth". This is why neoconservatives are really just pseudo-conservatives. They've tainted the word "conservative" for all time.

Once again, DTGumby unwittingly proved my point Scotty. This thread is titled "Budget Blowout" and I point out that we spend more than $1 Trillion per year on maintaining and expanding our military empire and DTGumby, being the typical neoconservative that he is, completey ignores it.

That's what makes people who think like DTGumby neoconservative. They continue their constant drumbeat of "tax and spend liberals" but I've NEVER heard a single neoconservative complain about the obscene amount of taxpayer dollars spent on "defense".

We all know the Defense Dept. has NOTHING to do with defense. That's why we had to create the "Department of Homeland Security". Cha-ching! The Defense Budget doesn't even cover nuclear weapons... those fall under the Dept. of Energy. Cha-ching! The Defense Budget doesn't cover Foreign Military Aid... that falls under the State Department. Cha-ching! Then Defense Budget doesn't even cover military hospitals and treating wounded soldiers coming home from war... that falls under the Dept. of Veterans Affairs. Cha-ching!

Forget all the things I just mentioned... we spend more on our Defense Budget alone than the next 25 countries combined! Tea-Baggers and Neocons run around screaming about budget deficits but NEVER utter a single word about our obscene "defense" spending. Instead they want to demonize the lower class and blame all of our budget woes on them.

Look at DTGumby. His only response to this are idiotic comments about "Da Base".

exactly what I got from him on this

In my opinion we should look at closing every US base that no longer is required

For instance in Korea.

The north koreans are not going to invade South Korea

If they do then we send the ships and nuke North Korea into eternity.

That will knock off about 3 billion dollars a year

BINGO ! we pay for health care for all Americans

PS- DTBlackgumby probably has a military pension and there is no way he wants his pension cut.

He likes sucking on the goverment tit.
