I didn't have money on the M's game but I was watching it as a fan. Aardsma just had nothing today. He had good velocity on his fastball but no movement whatsoever, and every split finger he tried to throw was bouncing 5 feet in front of the plate. So the Sox hitters were just sitting dead red the whole time. Also, I don't know if you saw it, but earlier in the game the 2B umpire missed a call at 2nd on a steal attempt. It should have been the final out of the inning, but instead the Sox went on to score 2 runs after the blown call. So yeah, the M's should have been up 4-0 going into the 9th, rather than 4-2.
As for Toronto, I don't even know what to say. How does Gaston bring Downs in the game in that spot? How many leads does Downs have to blow before Cito stops using him in those situations?
Baseball betting is all about having the luck go your way. Nothing more, nothing less. At some point the breaks have to start going your way, right?
