Thanks Kosar - that makes sense. DTB was trying to blame environmentalists instead of the actual political discrepency of Cuban offshore territory. The deflections never end with this guy.

Here's an interesting list. All 10 of the world's most polluted cities are in China....

http://www.wired.com/news/politics/0,70507-1.html?tw=wn_story_page_next1

Below are the most polluted cities in China (and the world), according to China?s Environmental Protection Administration. Most of these cities are west of Beijing in central China and in the mountainous regions of Shanxi Province. The dominant pollution source is coal burning and less than adequate emissions performance from trucks and other vehicles.

Most Polluted Cities in China (and the World)

1. Linfen, Shanxi Province

2. Yangquan, Shanxi Province

3. Datong, Shanxi Province

4. Shizuishan, Ningxia Hui

Autonomous Region

5. Sanmanxia, Henan Province

6. Jincheng, Gansu Province

7. Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province

8. Xianyang, Shanxi Province

9. Zhuzhou, Hunan Province

10. Luoyang, Henan Province

There are some really cool cities in Asia, awesome cityscapes etc.

I'm planning on splitting my Christmas-time between Tokyo and Taipei.... BUT, at some point, after a week or two, that "vacation" feel would wear off, and I would miss Western settings.

There is a whole different approach to logic and human interaction in Asia that would get to me after a while.

Plus, shit, I mean there is something about being able to walk to a bar, or coffee shop and chit-chat with Americans whenever you want. Discuss sports, TV, politics, art, whatever...

And I'm not talking about occasionally hanging out with other ex-pats, not the same thing.

Yeah, you always have to double check Waynes stuff. Most of the time it's not at all like how he presents it.

Also, I didn't realize that Jeb Bush is a wacko environmentalist.

"In response to objections from his brother, Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, the president reduced drilling opportunities in the Gulf of Mexico, and agreed to spend $235 million to cancel unused oil and gas leases elsewhere off Florida's coast and in the Everglades."

Hey watch that :) So you say enviromentalist are not against drilling--refineries ect
P.S. I never knew about Cuba deal I was just repeating on short story I saw without looking into it further--my bad.

Smuph China has probaly the most polluted water supply in the world---if you ever find "public company" (which I haven't) that gets contracted to clean it up--buy all the stock you can--it would be one on goingendeavor.been looking for such a compamy stock for years--and zilch.

Feklhr Never been to Taipei but have heard others rave about it--especially easy on pocket book.
Tokyo just opposite--very expensive and many Japanese have attitude towards Americans--where most other Asian countries are very friendly. Will make point next year to stop Shanghai (spl) when in China. I'm told about 25% of population speak English--not so in most places I frequent there--especially 1st time--extended periods with no communication wears on you quickly.
If you go to China take a friend 1st time--if you take lady friend take big box of Kleenex---restrooms do not have itoilet paper as everyone takes it--everyone there carries there own--seriously.
At Mc Donalds you have to ask for napkins--if they put them out on tables they would be gone instantly. :)

Had to go to China many times. Met many nice people. Would I trade America for China. No. There government is far from free and open. You try some of the discussion we have here there. Not a good idea. There rural areas are still stuck in the 1930 many places. There ways to prevent population growth makes our apportion seem mute. The people them self are not easily going to talk open about it. But you talk about good food. And those you become friends with. There loyalty to you is very real.
