So Cal
You could take that list and the majority of things on there would apply to almost every administration we have ever had in this country. It is assinine and pointless.

I also continue laugh at the equation that the armies are made up of society's dregs that are being forced to fight in a war they don't care about or believe in. Unless I have been asleep for the last 35 years (as some would agree), I thought that participation in the military is VOLUNTARY. Did somebody reinstate the draft and forget to tell me?

dtb quote:"My pet peave is you have many that are not informed on aspects
of life ins and may pay on policy for 20 years and decide they don't need it and quit paying premium. They are not aware that they have cash value built up. What happens in many cases?
Company will not inform them that they have cash coming but use cash value to continue to pay premiums. This will be done till cash is exhausted.Policyholder is not aware policyit is in force and if he died while it was, would not file claim."

as an ex-insurance man i have to disagree with some of this....

an insurance company does indeed notify an insured about the status of a policy. but from my experience many people just throw a letter away without opening it & reading it. many people just think the ins. company wants to sell them additional insurance & instead of reading the letter, they just throw it away. so in many cases the policyholder does not know that there is cash in the policy.

Something has gone wrong our boys and girls are not flocking to sign up as they were. We are not making our goals.

Why would they flock to sign up? The pay rate is terrible for the risk that they are taking, there is no groundswell of grass roots support of the war such as protecting the country from a direct threat such as WW2. I really think it's a tough sell to get an 18 year old to committ to serving in the army and being sent to a country where there is no exit plan in place and more than likely civil unrest will continue for at least the next ten years.

Wow:

A new low. I've found a possible convergence of view with the Waynemeister. Wayne said conservatives would flourish without liberals while liberals need conservatives since, in essence, he argues that conservatives create wealth and jobs. I hope I've paraphrased that correctly Wayne.

Although I disagree with the latter part of Waynes comment, I tend to agree that conservatives flourish without liberals. Historically, he has precedent to back up this statement.

If you look at Germany in the 1930's the conservatives of that era overtly extinguished the liberals by interning them or outright killing them as members of an inferior race. Much like the Christian right of the modern era has established themselves as the authority governing this country.

As we all know, once the conservatives obtained control through the use of the media, German companies, and publicaly claiming God was on there side, the country flourished during a 12 year period of rebuilding the infrastructure after WWI, the military, and dismissing all those who stood in there way.

Boys, the similarities between the rise German right party in the 1930's and the American right party of the 1990's is uncanny. Same use of media, public opinion, corporate support, religion, arrogance and superiority, and finally military might. The republicans have learned well from the nazi's.

Wayne Hoehn. German origin, right?

"Why would they flock to sign up? The pay rate is terrible for the risk that they are taking--"

Yep much better for them to set back and draw welfare or hang out in the getto---or better yet carry their picket signs complaining they can't find employment.

pay rate is terrible--compared to what--welfare--unemployment benefits or no job at all.

Of course one could take the liberal approach and say--too risky for me let someone else do it--then protest-spit on em--and complain that they are abusing terrorist--correct?

Edward Tell me where your source of income would come from without big business and insurance companies.

Be honest now---When is last time anyone walked thru your door at office that had any assetts you could sue for---and when is last time you sued a person that in the end the insurance company or business would not be the ulitimate one compensating you.

---you must remember 1/3 of nothing is nothing.
