You may have missed it...I try to keep my admittances of guilt and negativity regarding democrats to a minimum around here... :shade:

I think Clinton lying under oath was wrong. I also think what he did that caused the lying was wrong. For a long time I was in denial of that, until a good friend of mine hit me with the question..."How do you explain this to your kids?" I was squarely in the camp that thought it was no big deal and getting a blow job in the Oval office kind of is every political-hobbiest's dream, until that moment. I never told him that, of course, because I needed to win the argument...

When I actually tried to put together an explanation for my kids, I could not do it. It simply was wrong. Getting a hummer is sex to me. It's not right to do to your wife or family. And to lie about it under oath is wrong legally and morally. And, it does stain (so to speak) the highest office of our country in the eyes of the rest of the world.

Personally, I don't care about it, but it's wrong at the basic level, which is where I think a lot of people need to go with this particular administration. But I'll stop there.

So, you can put me in the liberal camp that does not defend the left blindly or blankly. Admitting mistakes is one of the best ways to learn more about the world and yourself.

Hard to disagree with that - good response. And, by the way, I only seek to defend Bush at times because it is fun to play Devil's Advocate. I am the first to say he has failed all of us in his presidency at one time or another. His politics defy description and certainly are far from conservative. On the other hand, I don't think he deserves any more or less criticism than most.

perfect time to put that on front page of LA times one day after Iraqi elections. what a perfect destraction. how about the release of a new book by a NY times reporter timed perfectly. If bin laden phones the US, should we cut in and and ask him to hold on while we get a warrant?

Chad don't know about Carter but Clinton did ok break in and wire tap on agent spying for Russia---and I'll give him a high-five for doing so--also had it not been for red tape to go through Bill would have probably got UBL before he left the camp in Afgan.Things could have worked much diff if they sent the missile when phone call was initially intercepted.
